Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomfans are excited about the prospect of DLC being revealed this week, specifically at June 21’s Nintendo Direct. The calls forToTKDLC began shortly after the Nintendo Direct was confirmed on June 20, which itself followed several rumors over the weekend. For now, fans know that theNintendo Direct will take place at 7 am PT/10 am ET on June 21, and it will feature the upcoming release ofPikmin 4. It is also set to last 40 minutes, which means fans should get plenty of new game reveals, updates, and the like alongsidePikmin 4.

It should be noted that Pyoro, who previously leaked the existence ofEverybody 1-2 SwitchandSonic Superstars, has claimed anew 2DSuper Mario Brosgame and a classic SNES Remakewill be at the event. Mario Baseball is a possibility too, after the mustached plumber made an appearance at a Mariners game, bat in hand.

Among these leaks, though, there has been no mention ofZelda: Tears of the Kingdomor any potential DLC, but that hasn’t stopped fans from responding to the announcement with pleas forToTKDLC. Many are hoping to see it announced there, with it appearing on a handful of pre-Direct wish lists. Of course, it ultimately remains to be seen, but it’s not entirely unfathomable.Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomis already one of the highest-rated games of all time, and it would make sense for Nintendo to continue supporting it throughout the year, depending on its release schedule.Breath of the Wildis also proof this is possible.

Zelda: Breath of the Wildreleased in March 2017 and, just three months later in June, dropped its first DLC: The Master Trials. IfZelda: Tears of the Kingdomfollows suit, it’s possible the first DLC would be around August, three months after May. A proper reveal of its possibleExpansion Pass, just likeZelda: Breath of the Wild, is not impossible, but fans should manage expectations. There’s no real indication it will be there, and Nintendo could opt for a completely different approach here.

Either way, many fans are already excited about the Nintendo Direct presentation and have been all weekend. At 40 minutes, Nintendo is likely to show off quite a few games, and based on thevariousMariorumors, fans could be eating well. PerhapsZeldafans will be too.

Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomis available now on Nintendo Switch.
