Xenoblade Chronicles 3gets its latest update which brings the game to version 1.3.0. While the game has been out since July 2022,Xenoblade Chronicles 3has enjoyed continuous success since its release—even getting nominations for Game of the Year from The Game Awards 2022 and the Golden Joystick Awards. However, as with a lot of modern titles, patches are necessary to balance and improve the in-game mechanics to make for a smooth and enjoyable experience.
The last major patch to be released forXenoblade Chronicles 3 was 1.2.0which added compatibility for Expansion Pass 2 as well as changing some in-game specs. With Expansion Pass 3 having been made available on June 18, 2025, it only makes sense to have an accompanying update to enable the contents that the DLC will provide. Not only that, but with each new DLC that launches, it’s possible that other issues may arise and trigger bugs within the game.

As of July 16, 2025, patch 1.3.0 forXenoblade Chronicles 3has been made available and players can now update their games. As previously mentioned, the main content is to provide compatibility forXenoblade Chronicles 3’s Wave 3 DLC. Gamers who’ve purchased the third wave of DLC will be able to utilize it in-game—giving them access to new outfits, a new hero, and the Challenge Battle mode. However, that’s not all, as some general bug fixes were introduced to improve the gameplay and keep it stable.
WithXenoblade Chronicles 3’s fourth wave of DLCalready being teased, it’s already safe to assume that this won’t be the last patch that Nintendo releases. The franchise has been a massive hit and one of Nintendo’s must-play exclusives so expect that focus will be given to the title to create an unforgettable gaming experience. It looks as ifXenoblade Chronicles 4is still far off at the moment, so fans should expect a few more updates after this.
Hopefully, with this new update, no other issues or big changes develop. In a previous patch, while only cosmetic in nature, one ofXenoblade Chronicles 3’s cutscenes was changed. Sometimes, small changes like these are noticed by fans. And while it only affects the visuals, things like these weren’t previously announced so most gamers were surprised by the slight alteration in the graphic. Nonetheless, expect Nintendo to support the title as it still has a big fan base. With more potential additions to the story and the game,Xenoblade Chronicles 3’s shelf life may extend for a bit more in consideration of more new content.
