The end-of-year holidays are nearing, with Thanksgiving being just a week away in the United States. Alongside Thanksgiving will come Black Friday, the biggest shopping holiday of the year. 2020’s not quite like other years, however, due to the pandemic, so many video game fans will be looking toward all-digital game sales. With that in mind,Xboxhas opened its Black Friday sales event early. There are over 700 games and DLC add-ons available at steep discounts forXboxplatforms.
There’s no need for game players to rush out and buy everything at once, however, as the Xbox Black Friday Sale will last for a while. The sales are all live right now and will remain so until December 3 in two weeks; a week leading up toBlack Fridayand a week afterward. That gives ample time for Xbox gamers to compare prices from other storefronts' Black Friday Sales and make the best decision for their wallets.

Xbox’s Black Friday sale includes discounts on a ton of 2020 most-popular games, including more than a dozen titles with Xbox Series X versions or upgrades already available. This list includes games likeBorderlands 3for less than $20,Mortal Kombat 11for less than $15, andWatch Dogs: Legionfor just over $40. Surprisingly,Assassin’s Creed Valhallaisn’t discounted, but can be bought in discounted bundles, including one withOdysseyandOriginsfor under $80.
Microsoft is discounting many of its first-party game releases, too. For racing game fans, there’s one of the most recentForzagames,Forza Horizon 4, for under $30.Gears 5, which launched this past year, has been heavily discounted to just $9.99.Halo: The Master Chief Collectionis just $25.99, and theSea of Thieves Black Friday Edition is $29.99. It might be worth waiting for Steam’s Black Friday sale to see if these games get a bigger discount in comparison.
What’s perhaps the most-wanted Xbox gift this holiday season will also be discounted. Yes, Microsoft is discountingXbox Game Pass Ultimate. A 3-month subscription of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will be available for 40% off standard pricing. It’s not available yet, however, and will only be for sale between November 22 and November 30. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate includes Game Pass on both PC and console, as well as the Xbox Live Gold subscription.
It’s a great opportunity to pick up some of the best games currently available for both theXbox Series X/S and Xbox One, or to jump into Game Pass at the start of the next-generation of Xbox consoles launching. Again, the Xbox Black Friday Sale lasts until December 3 and the Xbox Game Pass sale starts November 22 and ends November 30.
