World of Warcraft Classicfans have had a lot to celebrate recently between the Ahn’Qiraj war effort Season of Mastery update andtheWrath of the Lich King Classicannouncement. To add to the hype,Burning Crusade Classicjust launchedFury of the Sunwell–the final major patch beforeWrath of the Lich King.

Fury of the Sunwelladds the Isle of Quel’Danas zone toWorld of Warcraft Classic. The small island is host to daily quests, rewards, and the Sunwell Plateau raid, which pits players against the demon lord Kil’jaeden and corrupted Prince Kael’thas.

Players seeking to go to the Isle of Quel’Danas will need to head to Shattrath City after reaching level 70. When there, players will find new quests in the Aldor Rise or Scryer’s Tier, depending on their affiliation. A short quest will lead players to Ironforge forAlliance players and Silvermoon for Horde, which will provide flight paths to Quel’Danas, where they can begin their daily quests to gain reputation with the Shattered Sun Offensive.

TheFury of the Sunwellpatch was the final patch beforeWrath of the Lich Kingwas launched, meaning the next expansion will likely come toClassicsoon.World of Warcraftsaid it was expected to launch in 2022, meaning theWrath of the Lich Kingbeta is likely to come sometime in the summer, with a likely launch in fall or winter.TheExploring Azeroth: Northrendbook is currently slated for an October launchas well, further suggesting a similar release forWrath of the Lich King Classic.

Many World of Warcraft Classic fans are excited to return to the Isle of Quel’Danas inFury of the Sunwell.The Sunwell Plateau raid inBurning Crusadeis fondly remembered by players due to its high difficulty and interesting lore. These players can’t wait to help fight back Kael’thas and his Sunfury army to retake the Isle for the Blood Elves once again–nor can they wait to head to Northrend inWrath of the Lich King Classicsoon after.

There was some confusion atFury of the Sunwell’sannouncement. Though NA servers have their weekly resets on Tuesday, other regions reset at other times during the week, meaning they can’t access the new content yet.Fury of the Sunwellis live on NA servers right now and will go live in other regions after their normal weekly reset time periods.
