It has now been more than a year since this reveal and Insomniac has kept quiet, having already laid out enough crumbs for fans to enjoy in the meantime with a couple of antagonists teased. Insomniac was also generous enough to share a wide release window of 2023, which may have helped temper fans’ excitement as they knew it would not launch for at least another year. However, 2023 is approaching in a couple of months now andmore has yet to be shared fromMarvel’s Spider-Man 2.
Insomniac’s take on Venom will be incredibly intriguing, and the potential of Kraven the Hunter is equally exciting. Otherwise, no gameplay has been shared, and in terms of what its narrative could entail, fans only haveMarvel’s Spider-Man’s lingering narrative cliffhangersto go off of. Only a couple more months are left in 2022, and with each day’s passing there are fewer and fewer chances that fans will see more of it before the new year. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Could Release at Any Time in 2023
Insomniac has recentlyreiterated its 2023 release window forMarvel’s Spider-Man 2. But because there has been no news shared about the game since its official announcement, there is a high likelihood that fans may need to wait until 2023 to hear more. Insomniac’s scheduled release window could encapsulate any quarter of 2023, as it was not previously determined. Therefore, it may not be intended to release until this time next year, or even closer to the holiday season if it needs time for polish. This is a boon for Insomniac at the moment because it has no earlier window to adhere to.
It is possible thatMarvel’s Spider-Man 2could release before or during the summer, but if that is the case, Insomniac will need to begin its marketing campaign relatively soon. In that case, fans would hopefully see something ’s Spider-Man 2before the year’s end. If more is not shared before 2023, it would not be a detriment at all and fans would probably be understanding. If it means that Insomniac has its head down to produce a quality fans expect, then delays would also be understood. This is bittersweet becausethe chances ofMarvel’s Spider-Man 2appearing this yearare reduced since there is no showcase currently announced, but if plans for one are shared, it is highly likely that it could be featured there. Therefore, if a PlayStation Showcase is announced for this month or for December, then there should be a valid reason to expect it there. If not, fans will have to continue waiting patiently into the new year. There is hope in the fact thatMarvel’s Spider-Man 2was revealed a year ago, and perhaps more is ready to be shared soon to tide fans over into 2023.
