The survival RPG has one of the most simple and intuitive building systems in the genre, and players have managed to both create and recreate amazing structures using the few tools provided in game. InValheim, players are able to use a building system composed of various base blocks of wood and stone. Nearly three months after the release of the game, players are building incredibly detailed structures.

Players can either enable console commands and achieve infinite resources, or build by gathering all the resources themselves. Certainquality of life mods are available inValheimfor those who want an easier time putting together the base of their dreams. Regardless of the method used to construct the bases, the amount of time and effort that goes into making them is immense.
Reddit user u/thegoodman14 showcases an extravagant dragon themed home. While the structure is still a work in progress, it shows incredible finesse. The house features an open-concept bonfire design aimed to resemble a dragon’s bellowing, fiery breath. With the bonfire placed at the head of the structure, the house extends outwards with an angular longhouse design. There is additionally a great contrast between how the house looks in the daytime versus the night time. This structure showcases how building technique and creativity come together to produce a simple and elegant dwelling inValheim.
Another user, u/Daeaeaene, has made an aquatic pagoda settlement at the end of a long dock. This structure comes complete with a longboat, and features some brilliant architectural prowess. The structure is very vertical and angular, and is undoubtedly based on a real life pagoda, a type of Hindu or Buddhist temple, usually many stories high. Not only is the structure itself eye catching, but the fact that it’s built on the sea is impressive.
User u/Di-zzy has made a mountainside base fit for the Norse gods themselves. The structure is credited as a monument to Heimdall, the Norse god who watches over the entry to Asgard. Built high atop the treacherous mountain biome, this base doubles as a giant statue to Heimdall himself. Carved out of rock, the base uses stone and wood to make a functional base and temple. The amount of work needed to make a structure of this size and complexity is monumental, and would likely require tens ofthousands of rare materials, like Core Woodand Finewood. The monument is so large it needs a nearly four-minute showcase video to fully capture its scale and grandeur.
The work done by these players, among thousands of others, continues to astound and amaze. With more content on the horizon, especially that pertaining to building, the gamesurely isn’t going to slow down any time soon.Valheimplayers will assuredly continue to buildwondrous houses, monuments and bases,whether they are simple, complex, or crazy.
