WhileOverwatch 2’s PVP offerings are still at the heart of the game, it’s the new PVE campaign that has many fans excited. BothOverwatchand its sequel have had tidbits of lore scattered in their related media and PVP gameplay, but it’s the promise of a narrative-focused mode that will allow Blizzard to fully flesh out the world. It’s no wonder then that manyOverwatch 2players are disappointed that the PVE mode is gated behind a paywall.

Overwatch 2has been steadily building its lore. Fromnew locations like Shambali Monasteryto new heroes like Kiriko, the PVP side of things is slowly ramping up a big PVE experience. Two newly introduced heroes, Ramattra and Junker Queen, have widely conflicting ideologies that, should they ever clash inOverwatch 2’s PVE campaign, would result in a fight unlike any other.

Ramattra’s Hatred Of Humans Runs Deep

Initially designed as a war Omnic, Ramattra’s wish was to create a world where Omnics could live in peace. After the Omnic Crisis, Ramattra hung up his bloodstained past andjoined the Shambali with Tekhartha Mondatta and Zenyattaas an Omnic monk. This inner peace within Ramattra lasted only for a while as he couldn’t watch as his fellow Omnics around the world were suffering at the hands of bigoted humans. He left the Shambali and took up arms once more, this time leading the Omnic extremist group Null Sector. Null Sector became responsible for many Omnic-related incidents such as the King’s Row Uprising and the Attack on Paris - further fueling the world’s fear of Omnics.

Junker Queen’s Dislike For Omnics Stems From Her Upbringing

Odessa Stone, AKA Junker Queen, was part of the group of humans that were forced out of their homes when the Australian government gifted the country’s omnium and surrounding area to the local Omnics. The goal was to establish a long-lasting peace between humans and Omnics and prevent another event likethe Omnic Crisisfrom happening. Instead, all it did was increase tensions between the two factions.

The displaced humans were furious and struck against the Omnics that settled in their homes - an act that culminated in the sabotage of the omnium andthe irradiation ofOverwatch 2’s Outback. While the state of the new desolate wasteland was caused by rebel humans, they and their children (Odessa Stone included) would never forget what they lost to the Omnics.

A Ramattra And Junker Queen Fight Would Be Epic

Ramattra’s role asthe leader of Null Sectorrequires him to travel frequently, so it wouldn’t come as a surprise should he cross paths with Junker Queen in Australia. Since both heroes' ideals are on opposite sides of the spectrum, a chance meeting would inevitably result in conflict. Both heroes are heavyset tanks with a wide array of moves. Ramattra has his human-sized Omnic and giant Nemesis forms and can wield his Void Accelerator, Void Barrier, and Ravenous Vortex to stop Junker Queen in her tracks.

Not to be outdone by Ramattra, Junker Queen’s health pool can can tank the Omnic’s attacks. Once she gets close, she can use herScattergun, Jagged Blade, and axeto chip away at Ramattra’s defenses. As the fight goes on, both heroes would build up their powerful ultimate moves. Junker Queen’s Rampage would wound Ramattra and prevent him from healing any damage. Likewise, Ramattra’s area-denying Annihilation would force Junker Queen to rethink her approach to close-range combat.

Overwatch 2, Ramattra Ultimate

Both heroes are dead set on what they want. Ramattra wants a world for Omnics, so he can’t have someone like Junker Queen killing his kind. Junker Queen wants the whole world to herself and is intolerant of Omnics like Ramattra. A world where both of these goals are fulfilled is impossible, so the two characters will either have to come to an agreement or duke it out. And sinceOverwatch 2’s core gameplay revolves around settling disputes with violence,a fight between two Tank heroesis the more entertaining choice.

Overwatch 2is out on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
