That was back in 2014.Kingsman: The Secret Service, and its sequel, took place in the modern era.The King’s Mantakes the story back to the origins of this secret spy society. This isan action moviebased on fact, but with a twist. Like any movie based on real-world history, some logic problems arise from it.The King’s Maneven encounters some retcon action for the first two movies. There will be spoilers in the effort to try and make sense of these oddities. Just remember, this breakdown is all for fun.
7How Long Was Orlando Playing Spy Games?
About a third of the way through the movie, Orlando reveals to Conrad that he has been playing spy games with Polly and Shola. It is never mentioned how long he was doing this.
Also, it’s kind of hard to believe that such an important member of British society could go around pulling spy shenanigans andaction movie stuntswithout consequences to the Crown. He has no mask or disguise. Furthermore, for a man with a bad leg, he can move relatively well.

6Was Rasputin Magic?
That is a question that has haunted real-world history for quite some time. Rasputin seemed to defy physics at a constant rate. He was poisoned, shot, and stabbed and lived through a lot of those injuries. He was Russia’sfirst action movie starin a way.
It was theorized that Rasputin had some sort of magic, something which is explored in the film. Orlando’s leg gets healed for example. All Rasputin does is chant, poke Orlando’s leg, and then lick it. Voila. Brand new leg. Does magic exist in this film universe now? It must otherwise that whole sequence doesn’t add up.

5Guns Are Important, Except When They’re Not
One of the funnier early moments in the film is when Polly shoots Shola’s knife out of his hand. She declares that guns are the wave of the future for combat. She was right as melee weapons are almost non-existent on the battlefield now. She remains gun-crazy throughout the film, but everyone else seems to ignore her plea.

The film instead has everyone have crazy knife, sword, and karate fights. This makes for a moreexciting action movie, but it doesn’t make sense in the context of the world though. Everyone should be using more guns like Polly cautions.
Conrad is set up to bethe main protagonistof the film. Viewers were seemingly ready to watch Orlando die at some point and to have Conrad step up. The opposite happened. Conrad dies and it is all because he had a bad plan.

What did he think was going to happen when he took over as Archie? Did he not consider someone in Archie’s unit would call him out on his lie? Someone indeed does and that gets Conrad a bullet right in the temple.
3The Network Of Maids
Polly and everyone else involved with Orlando’s plans are putting a lot of trust in servants. What would they do if they asked aservant to spyon their master and have them refuse? Wouldn’t that servant turn Orlando and the rest over? “They want me to spy on you!” Some exchange like that could occur.
This movie posits that all maids, butlers, and the like are loyal spies. Why would they be though? It’s a new element about the origins of this organization that is never fully explored.

Even though Conrad dies in the line of duty, he is still rewarded with a medal. That is standard for most military organizations across many countries. Orlando excepts Conrad’s iron cross and carries it with him into the final battle.

It comes in handy at the last second when he needs to cut Morton’s cashmere scarf. He uses the medal to do it. Normal cashmere is not that frail. How could a medal cut through cashmere like that then? Also, just how sharp was that medal? Maybe it was made out of diamonds. It’s meant to be a touching moment since Orlando uses his son’s medal. However, it comes across as goofy instead.
1So, How Did Orlando And Shola Get Down From Goat Mountain?
That final storming of Morton’s compound had a few more silly things in it. How did no one notice a plane flying towards the compound? It should have been shot down. This is supposed to be a secret base. Shouldn’t it have been more heavily guarded? Later, soldiers are seen walking around but they don’t catch Orlando until much later.
It’s not like he had thestealthiest of approacheseither. Again, he crashed a plane. Also, how exactly did Orlando and Shola get down after the battle? There are no more parachutes and the elevator was broken. They even joke about it in the movie, which is funny but it still begs the question: how did they get down? The only way possible was if they waited for a plane to drop off two parachutes. How long would that have taken?
