WWE 2K24did not address the Vince McMahon situation in ithe immediate aftermath, but when Brock Lesnar was implicated in the same lawsuit, it did scrub the former WWE Champion fromthe cover of the game’s 40 Years of WrestleMania Edition. Since then, fans have been waiting to hear if Lesnar would be removed from the roster, as he was from theWWE SuperCardmobile game. The officialWWE 2K24full roster reveal seemingly confirmed Lesnar’s absence from the game.
It was later confirmed that neither Brock Lesnar nor Vince McMahon would be featured as playable characters inWWE 2K24, though that wording leaves the door open for them to still appear in the game in another capacity. Many have assumed that Lesnar was supposed to be featured in some ofWWE 2K24’s Showcase matches, and as it stands, three of those still have yet to be announced. Vince McMahon, meanwhile, played a major role in the conclusion of the Steve Austin vs. The Rock match from WrestleMania 17 that has already been announced for the Showcase. It’s possible the ending will be tweaked to remove mention of McMahon, but that has yet to be clarified. Regardless if Lesnar or McMahon are featured in Showcase, neither will be actually playable in the game.

The Brock Lesnar/Vince McMahon situation is one reason why theWWE 2K24roster reveal has been chaotic, but there have been other issues as well. TheWWE 2K24full roster listis currently missing WWE superstar and former world champion Drew McIntyre, even though he’s been presented as one of the company’s top performers for years.
Drew McIntyre already has a ratinginWWE 2K24, with an announced 89 overall. McIntyre’s 89 overall rating was revealed shortly before the full roster list was sent out, making his absence from it all the more confusing. However, it’s been said the roster list will be updated and McIntyre will be in the game.
McIntyre isn’t the only head-scratching exclusion when it comes to theWWE 2K24roster list. Even though the WrestleMania 20 match between Eddie Guerrero and Kurt Angle is in theWWE 2K24Showcase mode, Angle himself is apparently not part of the roster. Add in the fact thatCM Punk is nowhere to be seendespite the fact that he’s been back with the company since November of last year, and it seems that one ofWWE 2K24’s biggest roadblocks is its own roster. Hopefully WWE fans get more clarification about the missing wrestlers before the game’s early access launch on March 5.
