The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Swordfirst released in 2011 as an exclusive for the Nintendo Wii, but it’s recently made its way to the Nintendo Switch asThe Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD.Skyward Sword HDreleased alongside specialZelda-themed Joy-Con controllers and new amiibo, not unlike the original Wii version, which included special bundles that came with aZelda-themed Wii remote. Those bundles were affordable in 2011, but now they are going for astronomical prices on online auction sites like eBay.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Swordhad a special Wii remote bundle because the game required the use of the MotionPlus accessory. For the uninitiated, Wii MotionPlus improved the Wii remote’s motion controls so that they would be completely 1:1, allowing for the kind of swordplay and other motion control input featured inThe Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. Since Nintendo knew not every Wii owner purchased aWii MotionPlus accessory, this limited edition bundle was a convenient way to get a Wii remote with built-in MotionPlus capabilities.

ThisZelda: Skyward SwordWii bundle also came with a soundtrack, making it a highly sought-after collector’s item. On eBay, fans can find a sealed copy of the bundle listed for an absurd $39,999.99. Elsewhere on the site the bundle can be found for a little cheaper, with used copies ranging from $200 to $330. That’s still quite the mark-up from how much it cost in 2011, but it’s definitely more reasonable and realistic.

While $39,999.99 is a ridiculous price for thisZelda: Skyward SwordWii bundle, it may very well one day go for this price or higher at auction.
