Jackson – Patrol: Journal Entry Locations

The first Journal Entry inThe Last of Us 2doesn’t appear until well into the first chapter, after rejoiningEllie and Dinaon horseback, making their way to the lookout. After tying up Shimmer and Japan in the first building the girls come across, follow Dina through the broken bathroom wall and out onto the balcony. After engaging her in an awkward conversation, stop leaning on the railing, butcontinue looking out at the lakeview to take a note of it.

When taking shelter from a snowstorm in an abandoned library, break through a window and enter the kids’ section in the back after finding Eugene’sFirefly Pendant. As you enter,make a note of the stuffed giraffe on a shelfto the right.

Seattle Day 1 – The Gate: Journal Entry Location

Riding through the outskirts of Seattle, this chapter brings Ellie and Dina face-to-face withthe main setting ofThe Last of Us 2. Approaching the quarantine zone wall, ride up to the gate andjournal about the WLF graffititagged there.
Seattle Day 1 – Downtown: Journal Entry Locations

Ellie and Dina must find gasoline in Downtown Seattle in their quest totrack down Joel’s killers, investigating a synagogue and a courthouse. After making your way through the synagogue during the search for gasoline, use a rope to swing between balconies. Before leaving, look to the right of the large broken window and enter an office there.Look at the Hebrew Calendar on the wallfor this Journal Entry.

Reachingthe FEDRA checkpointon 5th Avenue, climb to the catwalk using the stairs or the ladder and open a drawer in one of the watchtowers. Aftergrabbing the Street Drawing Artifact, interact with the Journal Entry prompt for Ellie to start her own sketch.
Seattle Day 1 – The Tunnels: Journal Entry Location

Much later inThe Last of Us Part 2, Ellie and Dina are chased from a TV Station by WLF forces. After fighting through the tunnels and crawling through some vents, the pair engage in combat with the new Infected about town –The Shambler. Upon first encountering these bubonic brutes, clear out all the Infected in the area andinvestigate one of their corpses for this Journal Entry.

As Seattle Day 1 draws to a close, Ellie recalls a special day with her late father figure. The first Journal Entry is discovered a little way into the chapter after a swimming segment. When you find the first part ofEllie’s birthday gift, the dinosaur, you can take note of it byapproaching the info plaque at its feet.

Further into the museum proper, head upstairs and enter the next exhibit. Here, you canwalk to the circular bench in the center of the roomto journal about the space shuttle.
Seattle Day 2 – Hillcrest: Journal Entry Location

Learning of the presence of a “lone male trespasser” in the city, Ellie sets out to find him in the suburbs of Hillcrest. Upon arrival, head towards the gunshots and scale the overturned UPS truck. The Hillcrest Journal Entry isfound on the banner directly ahead, between the Ruston Coffee and the Used & Rare Books stores.

After an explosive car chase sequence, Ellie will return to the theater and flashback to a day out withJoel and Tommya few years ago. Upon taking control of Ellie,walk ahead and to the right to look out at the mountain viewwhere Ellie can journal.
Seattle Day 2 – The Seraphites: Journal Entry Locations

Leaving the theater once more to search forNora, one of Joel’s killers, you’ll head along Route 5 toward the hospital. Along the road, after cutting through a FEDRA checkpoint and a convenience store, take a right into a conference center. On the back wall by the elevators,take note of the “Feel her love” graffiti.

This one’s a freebie. Further along, you’ll solve a puzzle involving a dumpster on a ramp. After doing so, climb a series of walls and Ellie willautomatically write about the Lakehill Seattle Hospital sign.
The Seraphites Journal Entry 3 of 3
A while later, afterfighting through a hoard of Stalkersand taking a tumble into the sewers, you’ll return to dry land and cut through a park to reach the hospital. Following your first encounter with the titular Seraphites, or Scars, make your way towards the Garden Suits apartment building on the far side of the park. Stop short of entering andsketch the dead Seraphite beside the bus stop, in front of the green truck.
The only Journal Entry to be found inThe Last of Us Part 2’s Road to the Aquarium chapter is found in the Kingston Bookstore. After swimming through a collapsed road and boosting into the building, drop down to the floor below andexamine theAlice in Wonderlandmural in the kids’ sectionfor Ellie’s insight into the cartoonish fungus.
Seattle Day 3 – The Flooded City: Journal Entry Location

Upon stealing a boat from the WLF in the mall, drive it up to the first shutter, get out, andhead up the stairs on the left to get a view of the Ferris wheelthrough the window. Here, Ellie can jot down her dark thoughts as she nears theSeattle Waterfront Aquarium.
Seattle Day 3 – Infiltration: Journal Entry Location

This climactic chapter begins when Ellie reaches the Aquarium. While exploring the building, Ellie will fall from a vent and be attacked by a dog. After dealing with it, enter the makeshift surgery room and go left through the door. Then, take another left into a ramshackle sleeping area andrummage through the blue duffle bag near the kitchen. Inside, Ellie will findOwen’s Firefly dogtagand make a snarky comment about it.

Leaving the beach and fighting through some Infected, cut through a nearby mansion, and exit through the windows at the back of the house. Back out on the street,approach the guard barrier overlooking Santa Barbara, and click in the left stick for Ellie to make a note of the address she seeks.

For the final Journal Entry, fight through the Rattlers patrolling the train station on the way to the “tall, round building.” Following the train tracks to a turquoise van,journal about the graffiti on the side.
