The Day Beforelooks very impressive, even though it is in its earliest stages, and it has built quite a sizable audience waiting for news. In an interview with GamingBolt, Fntastic co-founders Ed and Aisen Gotovtsev talked about the game at length, and while the interview has not been fully released yet, the developer’s answer to the question of whether or not fans can expect a future console release has been. The developers said they are looking into bringing the title to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, and even say fans should “wait for a special announcement.”
Further details are not given, but with other popular survival MMOs likeRustandDayZmaking the jump to console it does seem plausible thatThe Day Beforewill follow suit. It is possible the developers are hinting at possible participation with Xbox Game Pass, since the program has been getting a lot of big-name games and it would be a great way forThe Day Beforeto reach a large audience on the Xbox Series consoles. However, it could also be something else entirely.
Of course, whenThe Day Beforelaunches it will have a lot of competition. While it maybeatState of Decay 3to the punch, it will need to differentiate itself from the many other survival and zombie games that players are comparing it to ahead of release likeThe Last of UsandDayZ. That being said,The Day Beforeis in a great position to make a name for itself, and the reception thus far to each of its trailers and announcements has been overwhelmingly positive. The possibility of launching on next-generation consoles would do a lot to help it reach a larger audience.
The Day Beforeis coming to PC in Q2 2021.
