Diablo 4’s Rogue Players Can’t Go Wrong With Picking The Same Class in Baldur’s Gate 3
TheRogue class inDiablo 4andBaldur’s Gate 3have a lot in common, despite the two games having drastically different gameplay mechanics and character customization features. For one, both can switch from melee to ranged weapons during combat. Both are true to their archetypes, as they can deal massive damage to enemies using their daggers up close or kite opponents out with a bow. Like itsDiablo 4counterpart,Baldur’s Gate 3’s Rogue can also use deadly poisons and magic to gain the upper hand during fights.
Thebest builds for Rogue inBaldur’s Gate 3make the most of its signature Sneak Attack and Cunning Action mechanics. Sneak Attack lets rogues deal an extra 1d6 damage to one creature they attack if they have an advantage while using a finesse or ranged weapon. For Thief Rogues, this advantage can be had from hiding, while Assassin Rogues have an advantage over creatures who haven’t attacked yet. Arcane Trickster Rogues can get an advantage over their enemies by distracting them with a mage hand or another spell. They can then use Cunning Action to disengage, dash, or hide to keep themselves safe from retaliation. Therefore, would-be Rogues should prioritize using weapons like daggers and crossbows to trigger Sneak Attack. As for their race, the Wood Half-Elf is the best choice, as it has a movement bonus and stealth proficiency.
Diablo 4 Rogue Players Can Double-Down on Range With Baldur’s Gate 3’s Ranger
Diablo 4doesn’t offer a lot of opportunities for stealth likeBaldur’s Gate 3does, which is why some players may be more comfortable playing a Ranger. It offers the same ranged attack proficiency as the Rogue, but they often fight in the open and have access to the Summon Companion spell, which lets them call on strong creatures like bears to fight alongside them.Baldur’s Gate 3Rangerscan also fight up close with simple and martial weapons. They even have shield and medium armor proficiencies for extra survivability, something that Rogues sorely lack.
