Summary

Despite spanning over seven seasons,My Hero Academiahas, surprisingly, only killed off a handful of its heroes. Evenwith villains running rampantand the heroes confronting foes on the regular, rarely do any of the pro heroes succumb to their injuries. However, no narrative is compelling enough without the loss of a few beloved characters, as the element of death not only serves as a plot device but also as a catalyst for character growth and development.

While most of the series losses were initially confined to ancillary characters,My Hero Academia’s latest seasons have witnessed a few rattling developments, leading to the demise of several powerful heroes. The deaths of these heroes have shaken the series to its core, changing the course of Japan’s hero society forever.

Sir Nighteye was the first major character to meet his demise, with his passing arguably being the most memorable, albeit heartbreaking, out of every hero. The suit-clad hero was in charge of leading the raid on Shie Hassaikai’s hideout, and while the raid successfully subdued the villains, it also led to a major casualty.

Sir Nighteye (Mirai Sasaki) in My Hero Academia

Mirio… It will be fine. You’re already a more outstanding hero than anyone else.

During the final moments of thebattle against Overhaul, Sir Nighteye received a mortal wound that signified his end. Despite being taken to the hospital, Sir Nighteye’s time was limited, though this borrowed time allowed him to pass on his final words to Deki and Mirio. His last words had a major impact on both students, and the tearful moments that followed made the entire scene quite somber.
