Summary
Overwatch 2players discover an awkward bug that essentially traps players in an invisible box and leaving them an easy target for the enemy team. It’s been an exciting couple of weeks for fans following a number of big reveals at BlizzCOn 2023. For many, the biggestOverwatch 2announcement was the reveal of Mauga, a new tank character arriving in a couple of weeks. The hulking character has two chainguns which offer different bonuses, a charge ability, and a special way to reduce damage and heal.
Alongside Mauga, Blizzard confirmed more upcoming details including a new PvP mode, major changes to Battle Passes, as well astwo newOverwatch 2characters coming after Mauga. For players who want a bit more cooperattion, Blizzard also revealed a new 3 player mode called Hero Mastery: Gauntlet, which features Tower Defense style mechanics as bots attempt to attack three different points while players use powerups to defend against them. However, for all the good,Overwatch 2does still feature some issues including a nasty bug that traps players in place.

Captured by anOverwatch 2player named Acceptable-Dress-794, their clip shows a Cassidy player awkwardly stuck in place during a Competitive match on the Colosseo map. The character model is stuck in a strange looking pose, almost as if it is being smushed against the sides of an invisible wall, and nothing is able to rescue it from spamming Cassidy’s roll ability, to other players like Wrecking Ball attempting to roll into him. Before long, the enemy team comes rushing towards them, with Cassidy being an extremely easy target.
Oddly enough, this doesn’t seem to be a one off occurance as many in the comments have had similar experiences here. From what others have said, this bug typically appears in this 1 pixel location on the Colosseo map as a player moves over this specific location. Others in the comments have asked that Blizzard removes the geometry in this location with just a flat surface, but for now, it seems certain characters withcertain movement abilities like Lifeweaveror Mei can potentially help free them.
Another issue players have been facing as of late is duringOverwatch 2competitive matches where they’re going up against teams of bot-controlled accounts. The rise in these AFK bots are ruining matches for many legit players, leaving them frustrated and comparing the experience to that of Team FOrtress 2, another game that has a long history with this problem.
