IfStarfieldplayers choose toside with the Hunter during the Unearthed main story mission, he’ll ask for their help with a very personal matter. For obvious reasons, he sees Keeper Aquilus as something of a loose end and wants him gone before the final showdown with the Emissary. Rather than getting his own hands dirty though, he’ll ask the player to do it for him as some kind of morbid exercise of trust.

Whether or notStarfieldplayers agree to the Hunter’s request, the Infinity’s End side quest will be triggered, at which point, players will be free to either warn Keeper Aquilus or kill him in cold blood. Whichever option they choose, they’ll be able to get their hands on a rather nifty melee weapon, though as is often the case; deciding to do what is right can make things a little more complicated.
Should You Kill Keeper Aquilus or Let Him Go?
Ultimately, it’s possible to warn Keeper Aquilus and still complete the mission with the best reward. To do so, players will need to head tothe Sanctum Universum in New Atlantisand speak with the keeper in his office. After taking a moment to discuss his true identity, players should select the warn option and then persuade him to flee. Regardless of whether the Persuasion attempt is successful or not, he’ll agree to leave, at which point, players are free to return to the Hunter and turn in the quest.
Upon their arrival in Oborum Prime, players should board the Scorpius and then speak with the Hunter. If they didn’t kill Aquilus, they’ll need to persuade the Hunter that he’s really dead, which is one of the easierPersuasion attempts inStarfield. Succeeding will result in players being rewarded with 200 XP, 8,500 Credits, and a Rare melee weapon called The Last Priest. It is technically possible to fail this Persuasion attempt, in which case, players will only get the XP, but it’s incredibly difficult not to succeed here.

Alternatively, players can kill Keeper Aquilus just as the Hunter asked them to, though this will lead to them getting a bounty in the United Colonies. On the plus side, they won’t need to persuade the Hunter in order to claim their reward, but given how easy it is to convince him that Aquilus is really dead, it’s arguably better for players to warn Aquilus. This way, they avoid getting a bounty on their head and an innocent man’s blood on their hands.
