Few locations throughout the Settled Systems inStarfieldare more chaotic and lively than the city of Neon. Located on the water planet of Volii Alpha, the city is home to a number of sketchy corporations and is also the center of production for the illicit substance Aurora.
Throughout the bustling streets of the city’s three main levels, players can find a host of side quests and activities to engage in, from the fishing of Chasmbass right the way up tojoining the Ryujin Industries faction. Missions can be found in almost every shop, and Bare Metal can be activated by speaking with the owner of Neon Tactical, a weapons store located near Trade Tower on the Bayu Plaza side of town.

Neon Tactical
Upon entering the store,Starfieldplayers may immediately be struck by the Chappie-style, graffiti-decorated robot, Styx, standing in the corner. The store’s proprietor, Frank Renick is a grizzled veteran of the colony wars, and clearly is reaching the end of his tether when it comes to the Neon City locals. Frank explains how a dispute with an Aurora dealer led to an accident, and he was subsequently awarded the man’s property as compensation. This comprised of an old storage container, but located inside was the powerful robot.
In addition to stocking a decent arsenal of high-quality weapons and ammo, Frank also has a gripe with a local gangster named “Warlord” who has been looting the store and is responsible for defacing Styx, Frank’slong-time companion. When speaking to Frank, players can offer to help him deal with Warlord much to the shopkeeper’s surprise. Listening in on Frank’s further conversations with Styx, players can overhear the earnings reports for the month, which are not looking especially good for Neon Tactical.

Confronting Warlord
To find Warlord, players can head down tothe Euphorika nightclub in Ebbside. Like the Astral Lounge, this is one of the few locations in which players can legally purchase Aurora, although to do so they will need to buy a VIP pass from the bartender. Fortunately, Warlord is not a VIP and can be found with one of his gang members just inside the main entrance. The pair can be overheard bragging about “tagging the store” and berating the “old cyclops”, meaning Frank.
When confronted, Warlord maintains an arrogant attitude and complains ofthe various gang membershe lost whilst trying to loot the store. Players can opt to eitherPersuadeWarlord to pay for the damages, or they canAttackhim and enact justice a different way. Attacking him will inevitably lead to both gang members attacking the player, but they are relatively easy to take out if need be, and it should not cause any trouble with the locals.
Players will need to collect the credits from Warlord to pay for Styx’s restoration, whichcan be found on his bodyif he has not already agreed to hand them over. Having dealt with Warlord one way or the other, players can then return to Frank at Neon Tactical to give him the credits, where they will receive a payment of 3,800 credits themselves for the work.
