Summary
AStardew Valleyfan is sharing their concept for a Joja mod that could add a lot to the current experience of siding with Joja Corporation. WhileStardew Valleyhas always had an option for players who would rather side with Joja Corporation, the route has been criticized in the past, as some players have felt there isn’t much incentive to do a Joja Corporation runthrough. While that might be intentional, mods can always help to change the experience in the more dramatic ways that fans are hoping for.
WhenStardew Valleyplayers are just starting out the game, they’ll come acrossthe JojaMartand the town’s abandoned Community Center. After watching some cutscenes, players are given the option to either help rebuild the Community Center by collecting item bundles for the mysterious Junimo, or by paying a fee to JojaMart. The Community Center route can be long and arduous, but it comes with many beneficial rewards for players' efforts. JojaMart changes the progression path by changing the town’s upgrades so that they can be bought with gold, not deeds. However, there are few unique benefits beyond that.

Now,Stardew Valleyfan NomNomNomNation is talking about their ideas for a game mod that would change how much the Joja Corporation influences the town and the player’s farm directly. With this mod, players would be able to start on a jumbo Joja Warehouse map, rather than one of the normal farm maps. Instead of inheriting the farm inStardew Valley, players would be instead put in charge of running aJoja Warehouse, which towers over the town, as shown on the minimap art they shared.
There would be some significant benefits for players to follow this route. Players would be given the ability to grow crops indoors from the start, without worrying aboutcrows eating theirStardew Valleyplants. A fish tank would let players fish in the building, and overgrowth wouldn’t be a problem to worry about. However, to keep it balanced, there would also be some small drawbacks, like crops being a slightly lower quality due to using indoor lighting, and the inability to make use of lightning to build battery packs or collect coal from struck trees.
Signing Up for the Joja Corporation Life
Many fans seem enthusiastic about the possibilities a full Joja experience could give them in the game. Several have suggested how it could change the way that the townspeople act and respond to the player, includingpotential impacts to Pierre’s grocery shop. While NomNomNomNation is currently uncertain if they can actually accomplish a mod of this scope, fans seem hopeful that it eventually becomes a reality.
