As players make their way through the opening hours ofSoul Hackers 2, they’ll gain a few other Party Members to help them combat their foes. These new characters aren’t just there to be a “class difference,” they’re actually an integral part of the storyline that unfolds. Not only will players be able to interact with these party members, but it’s required to unlock certain portions of the game, specifically areas found within the ever-twisting Soul Matrix.

As Ringo and her crew progress through the story, events, quests, and cutscenes will pop up, giving players a chance to increase something called Soul Level. The higher a specific character’s Soul Level, the better, especially for those who want to explore their Soul Floors in the Soul Matrix. When walking the paths of the elaborate technological maze, players will sometimes come in contact with locked gates, which can only be removed once they reach a specific Soul Level with a certain character. Because of this, players will want to amass as Soul Level points as possible with each member. Here’s a look at the fastest ways to level up Soul Level inSoul Hackers 2.
Progress The Main Story
One of the fastest and easiest ways for players to increase their Soul Level with their chosen character is to simply progress the Main Story. Those that are lacking enough Soul Level to enter a specific gate in the Soul Matrix can simply play a few more story quests, as these cutscene-heavy missions give players numerous chances to add Soul Levels to a character through dialogue choices.
At certain story intervals,Ringo will be given the option to interact with one of her party members via choosable dialogue options. As players highlight each choice, they will notice a set of player portraits at the top right of the screen. Hovering over a conversation choice will show exactly how much it will increase a character’s Soul Level, giving players an easy glance at just how much the choice will affect things moving forward. Players can opt to balance the points across all their party members or simply increase character at a time.These cutscenes usually award quite a few Soul Levels at a time, making them one of the fastest ways to increase the rank.
Unlocking Hangout Events from Demon Recon
Although the Main Story provides a hefty boost to Soul Level,there is another way for players to increase the Soul Level of their Party Members outside of missions and quests. This comes from theDemon Recon mechanic, which happens whenever players enter a combat-filled area. When players first arrive, Ringo will send out an array of Demons, which will scan the area for a variety of things. As players explore, they’ll come across their Demon companions, who will reward them with items they have found, or heal their MP and HP.
Sometimes, these Demons will have special, rare items.Some of these items will unlock unique relationship-building episodes called Hangout Events. Once players collect a specific Hangout Event item,they can cash it in by heading to Bar Heidrun. There, they can choose the item they want to use and enact a special Hangout Event with a specific character. Completing these events will unlock a bit of backstory for players, while simultaneously rewarding them with Soul Level points for the character in question.
Complete Side Quests
Much like the Main Story,completing Side Quests can be a good opportunity to progress Soul Level with specific characters. Although there are many side stories that simply act as fetch quests, there are a handful that are actually specific to Ringo’s party members. Because of this, players should be sure to take on any Side Quests they may come across, adding them to their quest log. Although players don’t have to rush to finish most of these side events, it’s still a good idea to snag them, so they can easily be tracked later on.
As players begin to unravel some of these Side Quests, they’ll run into events and situations surrounding Ringo’s party members. Completing these character-centric quests will increase their Soul Level, helping Ringo to increase her relationship with the characters.
