By now,TheElder Scrolls 5: Skyrimis a game that has almost become a meme in its own right. From fan cosplays to one personburningSkyrim’s map into wood with incredible detail, the epic RPG has provided nearly a decade of entertainment both on and off-screen, and is seemingly still having its life extended. One of the most active ways in which players are keeping the game alive is through mods, with tons to choose from that either tweak the graphics, altering the game in amusing ways, to making the experience more immersive. Now, a new mod has been uploaded which arguably pertains to the latter.
Posted to Nexus Mods just a couple of days ago,Skyrim’s Got Talentis a mod which seemingly marries the world of Tamriel with the song-and-dance shenanigans of reality TV. As the name may suggest, this add-on allows players to utilize their musical abilities in ways that have not been explored inElder Scrolls 5: Skyrimbefore by giving fans the chance to take on the role of a bard.

The creator of the mod, a Reddit user by the name of JaySerpa, says they created a bard progression system in the game which features about 100 instruments with a seemingly easy-to-use feature where players simply click on an instrument to play. While the mod doesn’t require people to complete the game’sBard College quest, it does state on the description page that it’s easier to advance if players do. Hilariously, JaySerpa also uploaded a couple of clips, one of which shows a character playing the flute badly for what looks like Whiterun’s Jarl as nearby people cry out in disdain, with one NPC claiming “Gods help us!”
Skyrim’s Got Talentalso has a ranking system whereby players will be able to move from the rank of Clueless up to the rank of Master. As far as mods go for the game, it fits in with the kind of add-ons that arguably make a difference to the player experience by creating new and immersive ways of engaging with the world, such as the one whichallows people to petSkyrim’s dog population.
It’s perhaps a testament not only to the strength of the game overall, but the talent that lies in the modding community, that meansElder Scrolls 5is continuing to be talked about and played, often in new ways.
