Many fans would like it if the protagonist inSkyrimwas able to speak, which is why someone decided to create a mod that does indeed give the Dragonborn voice, though it turns out that voice belongs to Nazeem. As one of themost immersive open world games around,The Elder Scrolls 5is a triumph of fantasy role-playing. Sure, it has its flaws, but the fact that it’s still dominating the AAA market after more than 11 years is proof of its longevity.
One thing that can be said is that there are manyunforgettable characters inSkyrim, be they companions who follow the player around or the copy-and-pasted guards that spew some now-classic lines of dialog. In any case, this fifth installment in Bethesda’s long-running franchise has a lot of NPCs that breathe some life into the world. However, not all denizens of Tamriel are liked, and someone decided that one character should serve a more active role in the player’s adventures.

Recently, Nexus Mods user salvis06 uploaded “Nazeem DBVO Voice Over Pack,” which is a mod forSkyrimthat, as the name suggests, allows the Dragonborn to speak in Nazeem’s voice. Created for a bit of fun, the description asks whether anyone has ever had a burning desire to speak like the despised Whiterun citizen. In which case, this mod is for those fans. A video shows it in action, in which the player selects a series of general conversation topics, only to hear each one being read out in the voice of the Redguard.
There have been quite a fewSkyrimmods that have given voice to the Dragonborn, but this seems like the first one to make the hero ofTES5sound like Nazeem. This NPC became infamous pretty much as soon as the game came out in 2011. His patronizing tone instantly made him one of the most hated characters, so the opportunity to sound like him while trying to save the world is one that some may choose to avoid. Then again, there will probably be just as many who are intrigued enough to give salvis06’s mod a try.
Despite the general hatred, there are someSkyrimfans who don’t think Nazeem is all that bad. Sure, his snobbery has caused great ire in many-a-player, with fans happy to violently dispatch the character, but he’s at least not a real threat to the Dragonborn. Perhaps having his voice may even make him a little bit more redeemable in the eyes of some.
Skyrimis available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
