Fortniteis a hugely popular game with professional players and streamers as well as casual players. Earlier inFortnite’shistory, all the top players use the mouse and keyboard set up, but now controller players have the added benefit ofaim assist. Now, controller players have a clear advantage against those who play with mouse and keyboard, and Shroud says that it’s not fair to people who are competing to earn money in the game. In order to level the playing field, Shroud suggests controller players shouldn’t be pitted against mouse and keyboard players in the game and instead, they should be put into separate groups.

While both controller and mouse and keyboard set ups have their own advantages toward each other,Shroudsaid that it’s clear that players controller players with aim assist have a remarkable advantage over those who don’t. Since each set up has potential advantages over the other, it’s unfair to allow them to compete on the same level. To be completely fair to all players usingFortnite’sPC platform, players who use controllers should only be pitted against other controller players. The same goes for those who use the mouse and keyboard set up. Whether or not Epic Games will implement Shroud’s suggestions forFortnitein the future is unknown.

Aim assist has caused problems across other games, and Shroud has spoken out against it several times before this. However, this issue originated fromFortnite, so it would make sense to fix the problem at its source.

Fortniteis available now on PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and mobile devices.
