Summary
Lethal Companyis a game that definitely isn’t for the faint of heart, especially with thesheer amount of terrifying creaturesthat can show up to chase the player down. The main objective of this co-op horror game is pretty simple: collect enough scrap to meet the profit quote for The Company, but actually achieving this is much easier said than done since players will also need to keep their stamina, health, and weight in check during their time exploring.
While there are also plenty of traps that can trip the player up, by far the biggest obstacle to overcome is the enemies, which have some of the creepiest and most unusual designs of any indie horror game. It’s clear that developer Zeekerss spent a tremendous amount of time and effort making these creatures as unsettling and scary as possible, and if their goal was to scare players to their core, then they most definitely succeeded.

7Hoarding Bug
The Hoarding Bug Will Chase Anyone Who Dares To Steal Its Resources
Just as the name implies, the Hoarding Bug is a creature that lovesnothing more than collecting resources, which it will often stash away in a particular area, but if the player gets any ideas about taking these for themselves, the bug won’t be afraid to defend what’s rightfully theirs. What immediately stands out about the Hoarding Bug is just how massive it can be, often taking up an entire room or corridor when it’s flying around.
Speaking of flying, these unnerving creatures are extremely fast when using their wings, which only makes them even scarier when they’ve been provoked. The Hoarding Bug will at least remain passive if the player doesn’t attack, so it’s up to them whether they want to risk getting chased by this little creature just for a few precious resources.

6Earth Leviathan
If The Ground Starts Shaking, It Means This Giant Worm Is Nearby
It isn’t the Earth Leviathan’s physical appearance that makes it so scary, it’s what the player can’t see. This giant wormwill only travel underground, stalking the player if they travel outside during the nighttime. Initially, the Leviathan won’t make its presence known, but once it gets within killing range, the ground will start to rumble and particles will fill the air. This is a warning to drop any extra weight and run as far away as possible, as the creature is about to try and take a bite out of its target.
What makes it even more terrifying is that while the Earth Leviathan is incredibly stealthy and hard to notice, it will appear as a large red dot on the monitor that slowly etches toward the player and their companions every few seconds until it’s too late.

5Eyeless Dog
The Pitch-Black Eyeless Dog Will Use Its Massive Teeth To Tear Its Prey Limb From Limb
Because the Eyeless Dog has pitch-black fur, it means that the only part of its body that is actually visible at night is its razor-sharp white fangs, and it isn’t afraid to put them to good use if it spots any humans in the distance. Luckily, thesegigantic canine enemiesare fully blind, so there is an opportunity to sneak past them, though it can be difficult not to simply run in the opposite direction once one jumps out at a player to surprise them.
If they do manage to catch their prey, they will shake them around violently before leaving them for dead, making for a pretty brutal death scene, which is very fitting for one of the most menacing-looking enemies in the entire game.

4Bracken
The Bracken Will Drag Players Into The Darkness, One After The Other
The Bracken is undoubtedly one of the most unusual monsters inLethal Company, not only because of its humanoid body and white beady eyes but primarily because of the way it acts. When no players are looking at the Bracken, it will quietly creep toward the nearest target, but when someone manages to lay their eyes on it, the creature will scurry back into the darkness.
However, this isn’t the same situation asa Weeping Angelsince the Bracken won’t remain completely still when staring at it. Instead, if the player keeps their eyes locked on the Bracken for a few seconds, it will provoke the monster to lash out. The unsettling design, mixed with its unorthodox behavior, makes this enemy very anxiety-inducing, and as if it couldn’t get any more terrifying, the Bracken will also slowly drag away the bodies of its victims into the darkness, never to be seen again.

3Thumper
There Are Few Sights More Terrifying Than The Shark-Like Thumper
Video game sharks have always been apretty frightening sight, but when attaching the head of this aquatic animal to two limbs, it reaches a whole new level of creepiness. The subtle grin and wide black eyes of the Thumper make it instantly recognizable, and while it can’t hear very well, it’s still able to spot any intruders from a mile away and will immediately chase them down by using its long limbs.
Similar to the Hoarding Bug, the Thumper is incredibly fast and can reach impressive speeds once it’s locked onto a target. Luckily, because it only travels in a straight line, it can be outsmarted with some clever movement, but it’s not always easy trying to plan a strategy when a creature this horrifying is charging at everything it sees.

2Ghost Girl
The Ghost Girl Will Only Haunt One Player, Making Their Life A Literal Nightmare
While there are certainly plenty of terrifying creatures and monsters that can appear inLethal Company, players will at least have theirbuddies to back them upif anything goes wrong, but this isn’t the case with the Ghost Girl. Once a team of players reaches the distant moons, there will be a chance that one of them will become haunted by the Ghost Girl. This means that only the player who is being affected by her will be able to see her, which can easily lead to a lot of confusion if a player is trying to warn their allies about her presence.
This is already scary enough, but what makes the Ghost Girl an absolute nightmare for the haunted player is how unusual her movements are. Most of the time, she will simply be standing still, observing the player from afar, but if she suddenly starts skipping, it means she’s on her way to take the player out for good.

1Coil Head
As has been shown ingames likeFive Nights at Freddy’s, inanimate objects coming to life is an extremely terrifying prospect, but when that said object is also capable of screeching and moving at lightning speed, it ramps up the fear factor considerably. Coil Head is a broken-down mannequin whose head is hanging on the end of a spring, giving it a very unsettling appearance that is guaranteed to send a chill up the spine of even themost die-hard horror fans.
However, if anyone wanted to actually kill Coil Head to remove them from the game, this is unfortunately not possible, as it can only be stopped by maintaining eye contact with it. The best strategy is to stare directly at the disfigured mannequin monster and slowly back away to a safe distance. Still, if the sound of piercing screeches and rapid shuffling can be heard, it means the Coil Head is still pursuing its prey.
