How to Defeat Del Lago in Resident Evil 4 Remake

Unlike most boss fights inResident Evil 4remake, the battle against Del Lago comes with a few restrictions. Leon will not be able to use any of his firearms during the fight. As if this wasn’t bad enough, he also won’t be able to use any restorative items toreplenish his health. In order to survive this battle, players need to ensure thatthe boat’s health meterdoesn’t reach zero. If it does, Leon will fall into the Lake and Del Lago will eat him.

In order to damage Del Lago, Leon must rely onthe harpoonsthat come with the boat. It is impossible to run out of harpoons during this battle, so players can feel free to throw as many as they like. While being dragged by Del Lago, Leon shouldunload as many harpoons as he can into the beast’s back, as doing so will deplete a significant portion of its health.

While being dragged by Del Lago, players will also need tosteer the boat away from incoming obstacles. Hitting these obstacles will damage the boat and will quickly lead to a game over if the player isn’t careful.

When Del Lago stops dragging Leon’s boat around the Lake, Leon will get an opportunity tothrow a harpoon directly into its mouth. Not only will landing a direct hit deal significant damage to the beast, but it will also prevent Del Lago from damaging the boat.

Adding Boat Fuel to the boat in Resident Evil 4 remake

Del Lago will sometimes sink beneath the water during this attack, rendering it invisible. In order to find it again, the player will need tospin the camera aroundwhile listening out for its roars until they can spot it emerging. The player will only really have time to throw two harpoons during this attack, so they should make sure they are aiming directly at Del Lago’s mouth before launching one.

Del Lago can also bite onto the boat if the player doesn’t attack while the creature is lunging at Leon. If this happens, the player will need to adhere to the prompt that appears on the screen in order to break free.
