For anyone who wants even more content in the already substantialRed Dead Redemption 2, a modder has spent a couple of weeks putting together almost fifty Native American pedestrians for the game. WhileRockstar continues to work onGrand Theft Auto 6, though no one is any closer to discovering when it will release, the community remains hard at work helping to keep the studio’s current titles in good shape with plenty of custom mods and tweaks.

Thanks to dedicated fans,Red Dead Redemption 2can look prettierthan it already is, have some of the bugs fixed which the developer seemingly forgot about, and be given some changes to the overall experience and mechanics. It’s also possible to have a host of new NPCs and pedestrians to interact with. Characters help breathe life into this slice of the American wild west, and someone has decided it was high-time that one group of people were represented.

In a post over on Reddit, user HenriettasChicken has said they spent two weeks “non-stop” working on mod forRed Dead Redemption 2that adds nearly fifty “unique” Native American pedestrians to the game. Simply called “Native American Ped Pack,” players can download these new characters from Nexus Mods. The creator said they were able to work with what the game has given them, so this meant they were not able to transfer custom 3D models. However, the images over on the download page show they’ve done great work implementing some diversity. HenriettasChicken said this project has been inspired by their passion for history and “cultures of different countries.” This came about after they say they were banned from another subReddit, accused of insensitivity and “racism” bought about by another mod they were making that was designed as a World War 2 concentration camp.

Controversy aside, it’s at least good to see the community is keepingRed Dead Redemption 2healthy with new content. Given that many consider it to be one of themost immersive open world video games of all time, the vanilla experience alone is more than enough to pull players in, but modders are just as keen to add to this sense of allure.

It’s one of the reasons whyRed Dead Redemption 2is still popular today, four and half years after releasing. While that’s not a huge amount of time, quite a lot has changed in the industry since then, but still, there are some games that can’t boast such longevity and fan devotion.

Red Dead Redemption 2is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
