That makes it particularly challenging to figure out how specific Pokemon are meant to level up. Thankfully, it’s not too difficult to get Sandygast to evolve into Palossand. It just takes a bit of time.

How to Evolve Sandgast into Pallosand

Sandygast evolves into Pallosand at level 42. There are no other requirements for players in terms of their move set or history in battle, so players just need to keep the Pokemon on their party for a while and get it up to that threshold. It can also be captured on a specific beach near Casseroya Lake:

Though Pallosand has a high-level requirement that’s almost equivalent topseudo-legendaries like Garchomp, Pallosand is statistically comparable to most other Pokemon. It has a base stat total of 480, which doesn’t match starters who have around 525 combined base stats or pseudo-legendaries who have 600.

Sandygast is a fairly troublesome Pokemon to have on a party, which can make getting Palossand a hassle. It has a terribly low Speed stat which makes it difficult to run away from wild encounters. The good news is that players can actually catch a Palossand in the wild. It has a chance of appearing on the coasts of Paldea betweenPorto Marinadaand Casseroya Lake, where players facethe False Dragon Titan.

Is Pallosand a Good Pokemon?

Pallosand can be threatening in ranked battle teams and certain raids but isn’t ideal for the story. The sand castle Pokemon is respectably bulky and has a solid 100 base Sp. Attack stat, but its low Speed stat makes it tough to use during the story. It won’t be able to run away from battles reliably unless it holds a Smoke Ball, which is quite annoying.

With proper setup, Pallosand can be very threatening. On teams that utilize Trick Room and Sandstorm, it’s particularly good as its low Speed stat becomes beneficial and its Sand Veil ability can activate. Earth Power and Shadow Ball are a threatening one-two punch of STAB moves, as well.

The trouble is that Palossand can be overwhelmed without any kind of setup. Palossand can be useful for high-level players but may be difficult to use for everyone else.
