Pokemon Scarlet and Violetis getting connectivity withPokemon GO. Integration between these games comes with bonuses that will bridge certain unique features of each game as a precursor to eventualconnectivity to Pokemon Home.
Prior to the launch ofScarletandViolet, Niantic introduced some interesting features toPokemon GO. Golden PokeStops andGimmighoul began spawning in-game, but players could not catch Gimmighoul. Niantic also revitalized the Postcards trainers get from sending gifts to friends. Now both of these features are being expanded on thanks to the upcoming connection betweenPokemon GOandPokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Players will soon be able to transfer thepostcards they have been collecting inPokemon GOintoPokemon ScarletandViolet, causing new Vivillon patterns to appear. This adds a streamlined method to collecting Vivillon patterns for trainers that playPokemon GOandPokemon Scarlet and Violet. They will need just the location data from one postcard to get a new pattern inScarletandViolet, rather than the slow process of getting a minimum 3 candies per catch on the path to 125 candies it takes to evolve Scatterbug to Vivillon with a different pattern.
In return, players will be able to catchRoaming Form GimmighoulinPokemon GO. By sending a postcard toPokemon ScarletandViolet, the Coin Bag is unlocked inPokemon GO. The Coin Bag will cause Gimmighoul will begin spawning inPokemon GOaround the trainer for a limited time like Incense. This can only be done once a day and trainers will have to wait until the feature is unlocked in both games to see how many coins each Gimmighoul encounter will reward. The bonus will help trainers that play both games and are still chipping away at finding 999 coins to evolve Gimmighoul into Gholdengo.
Golden PokeStops will return toPokemon GOand Golden Lure Modules will be introduced. These lure modules will reward more Coins, items, and occasionally spawn a Roaming Form Gimmighoul. Players can get these Golden Lure Modules by sending multiple postcards toPokemon ScarletandViolet. The connectivity of these games and the rewarding benefits of each are an opening act to Pokemon Home integration coming in Early 2023. Once Pokemon Home arrives, trainers will be able to send Roaming Form Gimmighoul toPokemon Scarlet and Violetand complete that Pokedex entry.
