How to Get Ditto in Pokemon GO
The maingimmick of Dittois that it has the ability to transform into any Pokemon it encounters. To translate this intoPokemon GO, Ditto can take the appearance of a number of different Pokemon in the overworld. Players won’t know they’ve found a Ditto until they’ve caught one, where it will reveal its true form.
While Ditto is more useful in the mainline games due toPokemon GOnot having aPokemon breeding mechanic, some players may still want to catch one. This is due to Ditto being one of the Pokemon needed to complete the Kanto section of the Pokedex, and catching a Ditto needed to get Mew. While the reason for this may not be obvious to some who haven’t gotten far enough into Mew’s Special Research Tasks, catching Ditto is one of the later tasks in the series of tasks.

Like any other Pokemon,Ditto is affected by Lures placed on PokeStops and Incenseused by players. Still, players won’t know if they’ve found a Ditto until they’ve caught one, so some unlucky players may have a catching marathon in their future.
