The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wildhiding a chest at the end of a shrine has made someZelda: Tears of the Kingdomplayers paranoid about hidden chests in its shrines. BothBreath of the WildandTears of the Kingdomare filled to the brink with shrines, which task players with completing a variety of different challenges in exchange for rewards.
Completing shrines inTears of the Kingdomgets players a Light of Blessing. IfTears of the Kingdomplayers collect enough of these, they can turn them in andupgrade Link’s health or his stamina. In turn, this makes it easier forZelda: Tears of the Kingdomplayers to explore Hyrule and survive against some of the game’s deadlier foes. Shrines in both games often have extra chests that players can loot if they figure out how to reach them, though a particular extra chest inBreath of the Wildhas had someTears of the Kingdomplayers feeling paranoid.

Reddit user IdleScimitar recently made a post about how they have to check behind the final platform ofevery shrine inTears of the Kingdombecause of a shrine inBreath of the Wildthat had a chest behind it. Many otherZelda: Tears of the Kingdomplayers seem to be having a similar experience, as the post has generated 2.5 thousand upvotes at the time of this writing.
Some users in the comment section suggested ways to combat this paranoia abouthidden chests inTears of the Kingdom. For example, players can use the Purah Pad’s chest sensor to determine if there is another chest nearby. This would mean switching off a different sensor that players may find more useful, however, so for some, it may not be an ideal solution to the problem.
Others pointed out how the shrines on theTears of the Kingdommap are marked if players have collected all the chests in that particular shrine. Because of this, players can check theirTears of the Kingdomworld mapto determine which shrines are still hiding chests and this way they don’t have to waste time checking behind the final platform in every shrine they come across in the game.
There are a whopping 152 shrines inTears of the Kingdom, so while this may not seem like a big deal, it definitely adds up. And if Nintendo ever moves forward withTears of the KingdomDLCthat adds more shrines to the mix, the problem will only get worse.Tears of the KingdomDLC hasn’t actually been announced yet, though, so fans should keep their expectations in check on that front.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomis out now, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
