The viewers' job will be to help the characters survive throughoutAscension’s episodes. It’s important to note that all decisions will be final once the series ends, unlike other choice-based games where players could get multiple outcomes.

Fans of the franchise can already pre-register forSilent Hill: Ascensionvia the Google Play Store, and download the game for free once it’s out. On October 2, the game’s listing was updated to include the official release date of the first episode: October 31 at 6pm PT. Based on the description,Ascensionwill have daily live story scenes that will be different based on players' decisions on certain days. Players will also be able to catch up on the series on demand. However, the listing didn’t mention the total number of episodes thatAscensionwill have.
ManySilent Hillfans online expressed their excitement forSilent Hill: Ascension’s release date, especially since they’ve been waiting a while for Konami to launch any newSilent Hillprojects. However, some didn’t seem thrilled aboutAscension, especially the fact that it’s going to be available on mobile, which they didn’t seem to expect. At the same time, there were a number of people that didn’t seem to understand the live series format ofAscension, and were expecting the usual survivor-horror gameplay the series is known for.
The live stream format is a growing gaming genre as some developers have started utilizing it to make players feel more involved in games' stories. Genvid Entertainment, the company Konami partnered with forSilent Hill: Ascension, also revealed recently that it’s working onBorderlands EchoVision Live. Just likeAscension, players will be given the power to decide what will happen to characters in thisBorderlandsgame. Both titles might not operate like a regular video game, but players could look at them as leveled-up versions of the choice-based mechanics.
Apart fromSilent Hill: Ascension,Konami is also developingSilent Hill fandSilent Hill Townfall, which are still shrouded in mystery. For now, fans could treatAscensionas a teaser to begin the exciting new era ofSilent Hill.
