Somewhat fresh off this spring’s season three,Atlantais already preparing for what will be its fourth and final season coming in September with new old vibes, as shown in an easter egg-packed teaser that sees the cast go back home.

Despite not losing itscomedychops,Atlantaseason 3 was an odditybecause the show decided to focus on a more randomized storytelling style that translated into only half of its episodes featuring the core cast of Earn, Al, Van, and Darius. Regardless of that, the show still found room for a decent amount of character growth that’s likely to impact the gang’s motivations in season four, especially now that they’re back in Atlanta with Paper Boi finally tasting success.

This FX trailer is asAtlantaas it gets with the opening shot of Earn and Van taking place at the very store where Al shot someone in the pilot as Coconut Crunch-O’s rain from the sky. Suddenly, more easter eggs fromthe bestAtlantaepisodes pop up, including the piano from “Teddy Perkins” or the reptile from “Alligator Man.” From then on, it’s all baby ostriches, selfie-hunting fans, trees, and peace signs as Al drops the mic on a psychedelic teaser that mimics his trip to Amsterdam’s Red Light District.

Lakeith Stanfield, Donald Glover, Brian Tyree Henry, and Zazie Beetz all worked on the final season ofAtlantashortly after season three had finished filming, returning to the show’s native city to close the series’ story. As the show’s creator and star, Glover has always been quite vocal about not wantingAtlantato overstay its welcome nor has he ever been in a rush to push out a new season. This means Childish Gambino and the rest of the writers must have cooked something real special.

Although last season drew some criticisms due to the show perceivably lacking a common theme in its 10 episodes, while some of Glover’s conceptions about Black issues were disputed by some African American critics,Atlantadelivered plenty of highs for fans of its humor. Simply put, there isno other show on television likeAtlanta, which is why seeing the end of these characters' journeys will be so exciting for many viewers.

For example, Van was among the least-featured characters last season, yet the finale gave her a new set of problems to tackle ahead of her return back home to take care of her daughter. So yes, theAtlantacast has big life-changing decisionsto make.
