As Kamala discovers she possesses powers of her own and learns the true nature of her purpose here on Earth, she starts to finally feel seen and a part of a community for the first time in her life. Audiences also witness Kamala making videos of herself re-counting and narrating key moments thatThe Avengershave gone through. One of the reasons whyVellani is absolutely perfect for the role of Ms. Marvelis that she is a major MCU fan too, and that sense of passion and enthusiasm translates on screen. Vellani is going through almost the same transformation as her character, finding herself suddenly a team player as opposed to a supportive on-looker. Now, she has shared one of the most recent encounters she had that left her as star-struck as Kamala, coming face-to-face with one of MCU’s most infamous anti-heroes, Hiddleston’sLoki. In a recent interview withJOE, Vellani detailed the story about her first meeting with Hiddleston during the production ofMs. Marvelin Atlanta.

Turns out,Ms. Marvelwas being filmed near the shooting locations forLokiandSpider-Man: No Way Home, which proved to be perfect for Vellani. “My first week in Atlanta, we shotMs. Marvelright next door toLokiandSpider-Man: No Way Home. I had been there two weeks and I went to Marvel’s head of security, and I’m like ‘Yo Barry, I’ve been here two weeks, I haven’t met any of the Toms yet!'" Vellani recalled. “He comes back 15 minutes later and says, ‘Tom Hiddleston wants to meet you.’ I came to work in my pyjamas that day! It was terrifying, but he was actually the sweetest guy ever, and he ended up living in our apartment! We worked out with Tom Hiddleston, We ran into him at the gym, and suddenly we were all doing reps together.”

Vellani’s encounter with Hiddleston just goes to show how humble and effacing he is, especially amongst a newcomer.Hiddleston happens to be one of the longest-running stars, working in the MCU since his epic debut inThor. He then went on to win the hearts of millions of viewers across the nation with his groundbreaking portrayal of Loki. Both Vellani and Hiddleston have this refreshing energy about them, and they are both bringing forth much needed representation of LGBTQ+ and South Asian communities that has been largely absent from the MCU up until this point.
