Mortal Kombat 11has been plagued by datamines since before its launch, with dataminers sifting through the beta’s files to discover most all of theMK11DLC characters. Datamining efforts have continued since then, leaking oneMortal Kombat 11DLC fighter after another. Now NetherRealm Studios has decided to poke fun atMortal Kombat 11dataminers through the Termo-Vision screen that players can see as part of the new Terminator DLC.

In the top-right corner of the screen,Mortal Kombat 11players can see a message that says “DATA MINE IN PROGRESS.” It then lists what are apparently supposed to beKombat Pack 2 characters, which consist of Mileena, Rain, Li Mei, Sareena, Meat, and the infamous Mokap. Of course, this is a joke by NetherRealm, and fans shouldn’t actually expect any of these characters to make it into the game.

Some fans may find the inclusion ofMileenaon the list to be especially cruel, as she has been one of the most-requested characters since launch. But instead of including series mainstay Mileena inMortal Kombat 11, NetherRealm instead gave some of her moves to Kitana, which didn’t sit well with Mileena fans. While Mileena could still come as part of Kombat Pack 2, we wouldn’t hold our breath, especially with this troll.

One big indication that this list of supposedMortal Kombat 11Kombat Pack 2 characters is a troll is the lack of licensed characters in the lineup. WithKombat Pack 1 featuring The Joker, The Terminator, and Spawn, it seems highly unlikely that Kombat Pack 2 would skimp out on having any licensed fighters. After all, guest characters continue to be some of the most popular DLC characters for NetherRealm’s fighting games, and so it wouldn’t make sense for it to stop with Kombat Pack 2.

In fact, it’s possible that oneMortal Kombat 11guest fighter has already been leaked. There’s been quite a bit of evidence, including datamines and premature Google ads, that have pointed toAsh fromEvil Deadbeing aMortal Kombat 11DLC fighter. No such announcement has been made, but where there’s smoke, there’s fire, and at this point it would be surprising if Ash didn’t make it into the game in some capacity.

BeforeMortal Kombat 11fans can expect to see any real news about Kombat Pack 2, though, they have to wait for the first Kombat Pack to finish releasing characters. Spawn will be the last Kombat Pack 1 character, and he’s not due out until March, so we should learn more about Kombat Pack 2 some time next year - assuming it’s coming at all, of course.

Mortal Kombat 11is out now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One, with a Stadia version also in development.
