Season 7 of Invasions Mode seesMortal Kombat 1players come up against a terrifying Shang Tsung variant known as the Deadly Sorcerer. They’ll find him at the end of the Living Forest Mesa, and, as with some of theprevious Invasions Mode bosses, should be prepared for a fairly challenging fight.

Thankfully, the Deadly Sorcerer boss fight can be made much simpler with some smart character selection and stat point allocation. It’s then just a case of understanding the boss' gimmick, which can be easily countered with the use of a certainMortal Kombat 1Konsumable.

How to Beat Deadly Sorcerer in Season 7 of Invasions Mode

Those hoping to beat Deady Sorcerer can make life a lot easier for themselves if theychoose a Kombatant who has an elemental advantage. Just as he was forthe previous Invasions Mode boss,Sub-Zero is an excellent choicehere, as his affinity to Ice means that he not only takes less damage against Shang Tsung’s Acid attacks, but also deals more damage as well, which can help make this encounter a breeze. Players can pair him with either the Sub-Zero or Frost Kameo if they really want to, but this is arguably overkill.

Next, players should think about their stats. Those who want to get things taken care of quickly shoulddump every available stat point into Attack, although this may not be possible right away if they opted for auto stat allocation when they first got started with Season 7. Thankfully,it’s possible to respec stat points in Invasions Modeby purchasing a White Enenra Core from the shop at the Wu Shi Academy. However, these are pretty pricey at 4,000 Krowns a pop, so if players still have chests left to unlock, they may want to save their Krowns for Ornate Chest Keys instead and just go into the fight with what they’ve got.

The fight itself is relatively simple, save for the soul sucker attack that the Deady Sorcerer uses between phases and right before his death. This sees souls fly from one side of the screen toward a giant green vortex on the other. Being hit by the souls will cause the player to take damage, while being knocked into the vortex will kill them instantly. To get around this, players shouldhead to the side of the screen that the souls are coming from and low block. They’ll still take damage, but providing they have an elemental advantage, should have no trouble surviving and be left with enough health to deal with the upcoming phase.

Anyone who’s struggling to counter the soul sucker attack can use a Translucency Field Konsumable right before the fight, as this will make them immune to all projectile damage. Players can find a Translucency Field in a chest in Shang Tsung’s Laboratory or purchase one from the Gateway Portal shop. In the case of the latter, though, they may need to wait for the shop’s inventory to cycle a few times to get one to show up.
