M0nster Hunter Riseis the latest entry in Capcom’s long-running action-RPG series. The title was announced as a Nintendo Switch exclusive and is set to launch in late March for the hybrid console, bringing the series back to a Nintendo system after 2018’sWorldwas only available for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Rise introduces some new gameplay elements that have never been done before,such as the Wirebug mechanicthat allows hunters to jump across the maps at high speeds to reach high areas and perform devasting aerial combats on monsters.
Monster Hunter Risealso takes a lot of the quality-of-life features introduced inWorldto make things a bit smoother for series newcomers. And while the title was announced for Switch only, there were some Capcom leaks not too long ago that showed off evidence thatMonster HunterRisewould be getting a PC portsometime after the Switch version launches. And, thanks to a new interview with series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto via GamesRadar, it appears that the game has officially been confirmed for PC, with the version set to launch sometime in 2022.

While the port is currently in development, Tsujimoto stated that they [Capcom] don’t want to share too much about it just yet. When asked about the reasoning for bringing the game to PC, Tsujimoto said that part of it was because the PC port ofMonster Hunter: WorldandIcebornewas such a success for the company and that “we always get a lot of fan requests for PC ports.”
WhenMonster Hunter:Worldfirst launched on PC, there were many issues that players were facing, but eventually, Capcom cleaned things up and now the game is on par with its console counterparts. Now that the developers have experience with porting aMonster Huntergame to PC, hopefully, the port forRisewill launch without any issues or problems.
Capcom launched a demo forMonster Hunter Risea few weeks ago for Switch owners to try out all of the different weapons and face off against a few of the monsters, and while the demo was solid overall, several players faced issues in which the game would lag whenever they would try to connect with other players online. However,Capcom stated that the issue won’t be in the final versionof the game when it launches.
Monster Hunter Risewill launch for the Nintendo Switch on August 08, 2025, and the PC port will come later in 2022.
