Every so oftenCall of Duty: Modern Warfare’sdevelopment team will hire a real actor to play as one of its operators. Captain Price, Frank Woods, and Talon are only a few of the many operators who have real-life stand-ins for both trailer and promotional use inModern Warfare.
AlthoughCaptain Price is well known among the community, very little is known about the actor himself. That is part of what makes Talon’s actor - Jack Murillo - so interesting, as he has reached out to fans and given them a big hello.

When Reddit user LegfaceMcCullenE13 posted the clip andclaimed to be Talon, many fans simply wrote it off as a troll. Things became suddenly very real when the popular developer Reddit handle artpeasant commented onto the post thanking Jack Murillo for stepping into the boots of the popular operator. With developer validation, the community quickly became ablaze with comments, votes, and appreciation, as he is one of the first actors to reach out to the community in such a direct fashion. In the comments below the post, Murillo interacts with fans in a casual and friendly manner answering questions and commenting on obvious jokes.
Fans learned a lot about Murillo from his comments alone. Although Talon is supposed to be a Canadian operator, Murillo felt that it was his duty to represent his set as a formerUS Marine in the promotional video. This small detail has caught fan attention before and was originally thought to be a flaw in the promotion, but now the use of US insignias makes much more sense with context.
One interesting thing that fans learned is that he did not get his own character bundle for free in the game itself. Instead, he was gifted afree copy of the mainModern Warfarewith quite a few bundles and “all expansions.” He also shared a small portion of the story of how he got hired on for Talon’s role, explaining that a friend of his connected him with theCoDdevelopment team. Once the paperwork went through, he was part of the squad and embracing this loved role.
TheCall of Duty: Modern Warfarecommunityshowed nothing but respect for Murillo citing his ethnic background of Cherokee as a sign of indigenous representation in theCall of Dutylineup. With actors reaching out to the community through Reddit, fans are feeling closer to the game’s development team than ever before.
