Many die-hard fans ofMLB The Show 22love playing in right field. Infielders don’t get many, if any, opportunities for diving catches. And the other two outfielders don’t get enough baserunners challenging their arms. For those who live for all aspects of defense, right field is the place to be. Oh, and don’t forget getting to get for power, too.

But while players can be in the right place on the field, they can be in the wrong city. Many ballclubs have an adequate enough right fielder that they won’t be looking for anyone for many years. Don’t get stuck playingMLB The Show 22in the minor leagues. These teams provide the best, and quickest, opportunities to succeed.
Pittsburgh Pirates
The ratings folks weren’t sure who the Pirates were going to put in right field to start the season. They took a guess before opening day and had a 69 OVR player slated to start. As it turns out, the Pirates themselves had even less of an idea of who to put in right field; they have no starter there at the major league level and are filling it with rotational players.
There is no position, right field or otherwise, more available than right field for the Pirates. This offers thequickest way to the big leaguesand the very shortest time in the minors. There are other quick teams, but none in this extreme of a situation.
Los Angeles Angels
The movieAngels in the Outfieldis pluralized for a reason. Mike Trout is an angel, no doubt, but he’s a singular man. He could use some help, especially in right field, where the Angels are a mess. The MLB starter has a putrid 63 OVR and the higher-ranking competition is stuck in the minors.

Stepping in will be easy afterimproving in Road to the Showfor just a few months. Don’t be surprised to get the call up sooner than that. Best of all, this is a team with some star talent that can think about competing for a title the instant that the player’s right fielder makes the roster.
Chicago Cubs
The Cubs have serious problems in the outfield. Ian Happ is solid, but he’s just one man and there are three spots open. It’s tragic that an outfield as beautiful as Wrigley Field finds itself with a shortage of competent players.Slap on some equipmentand it’s guaranteed to become the starting right fielder after the first call up date.
The Cubs are a moderately talented team but lack any starter above an 85 OVR. That’s perfect for a new right fielder who is looking to hit at a premier spot in the lineup. The players are good enough to win games, but won’t step on any toes.
Tampa Bay Rays
Only three teams offer a spot for under 72 OVR this year for right fielders. If none of those teams are enticing, then players are prepared to spend a little extra time in the minor leagues. Given that choice, it’s best to go to a team that seems to contend for a World Series title every year.

The Tampa Bay Rays have good pitching, superstars, and a solid lineup. After the player takes over in right field, this is a World Series-bound squad. It might take some time to get a higher spot in the batting order, but if it’s all about championships, the Rays are primed to go.
Baltimore Orioles
The Orioles are mixing and matching outfielders right now. It’s a tough fall for a storied franchise that once had the American League on notice. After a series of bad signings and free agency misses, the Orioles have been left as a fixer-upper squad.
But isn’t that the advantage of making a perfect player? It might take a year or two, but the Orioles can be turned around. They’ll build up a franchise and gamers can make sure this franchise is built with their player at the center of it all.
