Minisforum has unveiled the first AMD Ryzen 8000 “Hawk Point” APU powered 2-in-1 tablet. The company has shared a press release with images showing off the design, as well as key specifications for the tablet which is called Minisforum V3. It has also been revealed that the Ryzen 8000 “Hawk Point” APUs will come in 22W and 28W variants. These upcoming AMD APUs use better AI integration to boost performance and compete with Intel’s upcoming offerings.
The Ryzen 8000 Hawk Point APUs are believed to be a refresh of the current generation Ryzen 7040 series chips. They will come with the same core configurations powered byZen 4 cores, but with RDNA 3.5 GPU cores. The XDNA engine has also been upgraded on the upcoming Hawk Point APUs, giving them better AI capabilities. The Hawk Point APUs are expected to be one of the many next-gen APUs that will be launched next year. However, AMD has not shared any details about the upcoming chips.

Througha press release(via Wccftech), Minisforum has unveiled its upcoming Minisforum V3 2-in-1 tablet that runs Windows 11. The device was first teased at an event last month, and the company has now shared more details about it. The Minisforum V3 will be powered by an AMD Hawk Point 22-28W processor. The exact names of the SKUs have not been shared yet. The tablet has a 14-inch, QHD+ display with a 165Hz refresh rate. As for audio, it will come with a quad-speaker setup.
The connectivity options on the Minisforum V3 include two USB-4 ports, a 3.5mm audio jack, an SD UHS-II slot, and a USB Type-C DP-in-only port. It also offers Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 for wireless connectivity. There is a 2-megapixel front camera with Windows Hello facial recognition and a 5-megapixel rear camera for photos and video. All this is backed by a battery that is over 50Wh, according to the press release.
In terms of design, the tablet has slim bezels on the sides and a kickstand setup similar to theMicrosoft Surface devices. It also has a low-profile keyboard and a stylus for using the device as a traditional tablet or a drawing pad.
The Minisforum V3 will launch next year, most likely alongside the Ryzen Hawk Point APUs. These chips, as mentioned earlier, are supposed to be a refresh of the current Ryzen 7040 series APUs that are found in a wide range oflaptops and mobile devices.
