Midnight Sunslets players recruit variousMarvelheroes to their party. Not only can they choose the lineup, but they can customize each character to create the ideal loadout. Sometimes, though, the wealth of options simply isn’t enough. That’s where fans pick up the slack.

As is typical in today’s market, players have designed several mods forMarvel’s Midnight Suns. Much of these are costumes. Some pay loving tribute to Marvel’s long history while others are gloriously stupid. Whichever side of the spectrum the mods fall on, fans can easily get a kick out of them.
7Comic Recolors
Most modern comic costumes attempt to dial back the color.Artists and designers dull the tones of established characters. The aim is to look less flamboyant and more serious. This mindset permeates not just movies and TV, but also games. The irony is that the early comics were the epitome of color and flashiness.
One modder clearly misses those days. The game now sports brighter versions of its heroes. The vibrant blues and reds seem to have leaped right off the page. At the moment, it only affectsCaptain AmericaandSpider-Man. However, the mod promises more to come. Thus, longtime fans should rejoice.

6Thomas The Ghost Engine
One of the more weirdly prolific mods involves Thomas the Tank Engine. Gamers love taking the friendly train from the quaint kid’s show and inserting him into action and horror titles.Midnight Sunsis yet another in that line.
This mod replaces Ghost Rider with Thomas. As random as that sounds, it makes more sense with him than others. Unlikemost Marvel characters, he has a motorcycle, which obviously has wheels. On paper, this gives him a similar movement pattern to the train. He even generates smoke from his head, albeit for different reasons. Regardless, Thomas can now add Marvel heroics to his long list of gaming accomplishments. Sir Topham Hatt would be proud.

5Deadpool The X-Man
Joining theX-Menis neverDeadpool’s first choice. The mutant team is too altruistic for the antihero’s taste. He only ever fills their ranks for the sake of a joke. In that, he dons their classic yellow and black costume over his red outfit. The colors deliberately clash, and he looks ridiculous. One modder thought it’d be good for a laugh to bring back that silly getup.

Thus, players can dress Deadpool in his mismatched X-Men uniform. On top of the obvious visual humor, the suit is oddly fitting.Midnight Sunsemphasizes squad-based gameplay, which the X-Men excel at. If the Merc with the Mouth joined the fun, he’d naturally lampoon the formula with this tongue-in-cheek callback.
4Blade’s Haircut
Blade has several slick outfits, but this one is the noblest of all. “Blade 1602” gives the Daywalker a suit of armor straight from the Middle Ages. It mixes his usual trench coat with imposing metal plating, creating a stylized outfit thatany vampirewould crave more than blood itself. It only has one problem.
On his head is an embarrassing coif. It makes him look less like Blade and more like aPeaky Blindersreject. Thankfully, this mod gets rid of that haircut. Instead, it gives Blade the shaved head that fans know all too well. As a result, he looks sharper than ever.

3Ms. Marvel Classic
Many characters have changed over the years, shifting costumes and even taking on new aliases. Such was the case with Ms. Marvel.Carol Danvers abandoned this identity and reinvented herself as Captain Marvel. However, every fan base has those who long for the classics.
This mod satisfies those fans, as it replaces Captain Marvel’s outfit with the old Ms. Marvel suit. Going from red-and-blue to yellow-and-black is like night and day. The modder even goes the extra mile by coordinating with other hair mods. This gives Danvers her classic flowing locks instead of her modernized short hair. The physics may not be perfect, but the effort goes a long (no pun intended) way toward recapturing Ms. Marvel’s look.

2A Magik-al Keyblade
The Keyblade–the mythical weapon ofKingdom Hearts–has popped up in more and more games recently. For instance,Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apartlets fans unlock the magical key as an alternate melee weapon, andSuper Smash Bros. Ultimateincludes Keyblade wielder Sora as a DLC fighter. In addition, the weapon has gotten far more attention through mods.

This modder sought to reflect that popularity here, bequeathing a Keyblade to Magik. She already uses a sword. Plus, as her name suggests, her abilities deal with sorcery. She even comes from another realm. Hopping between worlds is a normal part of both Marvel andKingdom Hearts, so the Keyblade fits Magik like a glove.
1Wolverine (Without The Hat)
The Canucklehead’s default costume is his yellow and black X-Men outfit, but nearly as iconic are his street clothes. He typically dons a wife-beater shirt and jeans. What truly stands out, though, is his hair. It sticks up like horns or cat ears, aiding his bestial appearance.
Midnight Sunscuriously covers his mop with a cowboy hat. Granted, he’s donned such a hat before, but it’s usually joined by a jacket when he’s incognito. Here, it looks awkward next to his tank top.

That’s why this mod gets rid of the cumbersome cap. Now,Wolverinelooks likethe animalistic scrapper he is. More than ever, he seems ready for a fight.
Marvel’s Midnight Sunsis currently available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Switch.
