The newMadden NFLis on the way with fresh gameplay features and improvements. A new gameplay deep dive video just dropped for the football simulator, and the details should getMadden NFL 21fans excited.
Player control seems to be the highlight of the newestMaddengame. Among the changes, overhauled pass-rush controls, enhanced open-field tackling, and improved ball carrier skill stick options show thatMadden NFL 21may feel more smooth, realistic, and responsive than prior titles in the series.

The new pass-rush controls can be pulled off entirely with the right thumbstick on a console controller, keeping it in line with many of the movement-based changes over the past few years. According to the video, taking control of some of the best pass-rushers in the league, like Khalil Mack, TJ Watt, or his brother and theSaturday night star JJ Watt, could contribute to game-changing plays. Some of the most important players in the NFL play on the defensive line, so giving theMaddenversion of those positions more of an impact makes sense.
Open-field tackling is being improved. According to the deep dive, gone are the days of guided-missile and jarring tackles. Instead, defenders will breakdown and set up for an open-field tackle in realistic ways. To seemingly combat the defensive improvements, the ball carrier skill stick will be more responsive than ever and now include side hurdles and dead leg jukes. The updated juking and evasive features are perfect in a year in whichLamar Jackson is the cover athlete, one of the most elusive runners in the history of the league.
The video also highlights authenticity-improvements. In an attempt to make the game look and feel as real as possible, the game has all-new physics based-animation including QBs throwing under pressure and the way players will react to sidelines. In the past, it could be infuriating to see a runner be tackled at the one yard-line without making an effort to score, but now players should stretch out and attempt to break the plane to get that first down or touchdown. All of the new animations should look pretty in the rumoredray-tracing that is coming toMadden NFL 21.
As the NFL slowly allows more on-field celebration,Maddenhas followed suit. To go on top of some of thebest changes in previousMaddengames,Madden NFL 21will allow celebrations after every play, and not just in the endzone.
When the first trailer dropped for the game, fans were unhappy withMadden NFL 21. It seemed, initially, that the game would be lacking in genuine change. Whether or not this deep dive video shows genuine positive change is yet to be determined, but it certainly looks like it could be headed in the right direction.
Madden NFL 21releases August 28 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions to follow later this year.
