Now thatThe Falcon and the Winter Soldierhas come to an end, Marvel fans are getting ready for the MCU’s next small-screen adventure:Loki.After months of being exposed to countless teasers, we can already expect the six-episode series to be one heck of a mind-bender, full of unexpected plot twists and timey-wimey scenarios.
As excitement for the show continues to mount,rumors regarding potential plot details and new charactersare rapidly emerging on social media. One rumor, in particular, has fans speculating on the arrival of a new supervillain to MCU during its Phase 4 of development. Based on the information being presented, the rumor is shaping up to be rather convincing, so there’s a chance that it could actually come true.

A recent casting “leak” is hinting at the possibility that Kang the Conqueror, the time-traveling villain who is frequently depicted as an opponent of the Avengers in the Marvel comic books,could be making his MCU debut inLoki. The “leak” comes from a recent IMDb list that gives the names of all of the costume and wardrobe employees for the show. Among the names isLovecraft Country’sChelsea Ostrow, who is listed as a costume designer for one “Mr. Majors.”
Fans believe that “Mr. Majors” is a reference to Jonathan Majors, the actor whohas been confirmed to play Kang the Conquerorin the upcomingAnt-Man and the Wasp: Quantumaniafilm. The credits only list Ostrow and Majors once, so it’s possible that Majors' Kang the Conqueror could be involved in just one of theLokiepisodes.
If Kang the Conqueror does show up inLoki, his appearance could help set up the Ant-Man threequel, which is expected to drop about 20 months after the release ofLoki.Both Loki and Ant-Manare typically involved in time travel plots, so the inclusion of Kang the Conqueror (who is a time-traveler himself) in those two titles is definitely fitting. Even more exciting is the possibility that he could set up theFantastic Fourreboot, which would make sense since he also has a prominent history with the Fantastic Four in the Marvel comic books.
Of course, all of this is just speculation at the moment. Nothing has been officially confirmed by Marvel as of yet, so it’s important to take these rumors with a grain of salt. Still, if the rumors do end up ringing true, it will be interesting to see how Kang the Conqueror’s presence will affect the future of the MCU.
