In Chapter 2 ofLike a Dragon Gaiden, players encounter The Castle, a pleasure barge hosting variousamenities and entertainment venues, including a Gambling Hall, massive battle Coliseum, and a clothing store called The Boutique. This store specializes in outfit customization for Joryu, offering a variety of purchasable items such as suits, hats, and even jewelry.
The Boutique allows Joryu to assemble and save two types of outfits. The first set is Casual Wear, which is what Joryu wears during general gameplay withinLike a Dragon Gaiden’s locations including Sotenbori, The Castle, and a few others that are briefly visited during the story. The second set is specific attire specifically for use in the battle Coliseum located on The Castle.
While many outfit items can be equipped for both purposes, forCasual Wear, items like headgear and glasses are available, whereasColiseumoutfitsfeature masks as a mandatory accessory. Once a particular piece of clothing is bought, all its variants, including colors and patterns, become accessible.
Each time Joryu wishes to change his clothing, a visit to the Boutique is necessary. For fast travel to The Castle, where the Boutique is located, Joryu cantake a taxicabfrom any city. However, departing The Castle requires the use of Akame’s helicopter.
Acquiring New Outfit Clothing Items
InLike a Dragon Gaiden, Joryu’s outfit pieces are obtainable in three primary ways:
Items at the Boutique are bought with yen, while those at Akame’s Shop require Network Points, obtained from completingStroll n' Patrol missionsand requests. Outfit pieces are only available from these two sources. Some items might require game progression to unlock before they can be obtained, but no outfit pieces can be acquired through other methods.
The Importance of Outfit Changes
Outfit changes in the game impact Joryu’s appearance in the game world and cutscenes. This feature allows players to personalize Joryu’s style, with the game offering a toggle option to display or hide custom outfits in cutscenes and story interactions.
