It’s been nearly 2 weeks sincePatch 10.10made some small adjustments ahead of the Pulsefire 2020 event. Continuing some previous trends, Riot Games is set to give another round of changes to several champions that are outliers in their roles. However, the incoming Patch 10.11 also addresses issues with the marksman class being rather weak in recent months.
After being chosen last year by the community,Volibear’s shocking reworkfinally arrives tomorrow. Players that main Fiddlesticks, Gangplank, Hecarim, Kai’Sa, and Lux will be happy about their new buffs. On the other hand, anyone that plays Graves, Janna, Syndra, and Talon should be aware of nerfs that make them slightly weaker. Additionally, marksman champions are all receiving buffs aimed at helping them transition into late-game.

Out of all the main 10.11 buffs, 2 champions will be much stronger with tomorrow’s update. Lux’s buff to her E increases the lingering slow duration after it detonates from 0.25 seconds to 1 second. This will allow Lux to more consistently get in range to proc her passive with auto attacks if E hits during laning phase and increase the chance her team can hit important skillshots or CC throughout the game. Secondly,Fiddlesticksis getting some key buffs to his kit that make him the big winner of this patch. His Q passive fear on abilities will now also proc if Fiddlesticks pretends to be an effigy by standing still for 2 seconds. Furthermore, Fiddlesticks' W damage penalty for draining minions is being cut from 60 percent to 40 percent so he can more effectively waveclear.
Following up, Janna and Graves will be affected the most by tomorrow’s nerfs. Janna’s W base damage is getting a nerf of up to 20 damage at ability level 5. This will slightly tone down her point-and-click harass in lane and give otherLeague of Legendsplayers more opportunities to force a fight before they get poked too low. Likewise, the bonus AD ratio on Graves' Q is also being cut down to 0.8 on the initial projectile, which is guaranteed to hurt at all points in the game from jungle clearing to ganks and especially one-on-one duels.
Finally, most marksman will be receiving increased base health and health growth to help them survive being blown up during the early and mid-game. But Lucian, Kalista,Vayne, and Tristana are receiving other buffs since they can be played in other lanes and have become oppressive in the past. All Zeal items will also be getting a 2 percent move speed increase to help kite and dodge in a meta where being damaged or CCed by anything can instantly decide a match.
In the end, Patch 10.11 has a lot of potential to shake up bothsolo queueand the competitive scene. The effects of these changes and the new Volibear, however, should be fully felt in a few weeks especially when professionalLeague of Legendsresumes in June.
