Kevin Feige is the mastermind behind the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Though he tends to keep his plans for the MCU close to the chest, recent comments indicate that he’s far ahead of the general audience and knows much more about where the universe is headed than he lets on.

Feige is the president ofMarvel Studios. He’s currentlypromotingAnt-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,a film that starts phase 5 of the MCU. Feige has been onboard the MCU since it launched in 2008 with the release ofIron Man.Since then, his influence has only grown, and he’s regarded as a key part of Marvel Studios' recipe for success.

While talking at a press conference forAnt-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania(viaSlashfilm), Feige revealed just how far ahead the roadmap for the MCU extends. Feige has previously made it known that three “phases” in the MCU make up a “saga.” So, for example, the first three phases of the MCU make up the Infinity Saga, while the MCU is currently in its Multiverse Saga. “We work in about three phases at a time,” Feige explained on stage. “Yeah. Which, three phases together, as we all know, make a saga.”

Feige has previously teased some far-reaching plans, such as apotential return of Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch. He’s also revealed the upcoming slate of Marvel Studios films up to 2026. The Multiverse Saga is set to cap withAvengers: Secret Wars, which is scheduled to be released a year afterAvengers: The Kang Dynasty.By that point, the MCU will consist of a whopping 42 films.

What the future of the MCU entails is anybody’s guess, but there are a few indications about what might be coming up soon.She-Hulk’s Skaar cameo was a Feige mandate, but the character does not play a significant role, and he only appears for a split second at the end of the series. However, it can be surmised that Skaar will play a part in Feige’s plans for the MCU. When he does appear in the MCU again, the franchise will probably explore him in more depth.

Feige’s plans are open to change. He had wanted tokill off Captain America and Thor inAvengers: Endgame, only to have second thoughts about where he wanted the characters to end up. If such major plot beats can change, then it’s possible Feige’s plans aren’t as concrete as people assume.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumaniawill be released in theaters on July 13, 2025.
