Ellie is perhaps one of the most popular characters for cosplayers, with a huge selection of cosplays that have varying levels ofresemblance toThe Last of Usprotagonist. This latest one, from veteran Ellie cosplayer Sandra Miller, might be the best likeness to the character yet, with many fans double-taking when they realized the image posted to Twitter wasn’t an in-game screenshot. Equipped with a bloodied machete and a backpack full of arrows, Miller’s intense stare off-camera captures Ellie’s seriousness in the Naughty Dog sequel, her low pose indicative of the sneaky gameplay the game is known for.
What adds to the authenticity of the cosplay is the photography, credited to Chris.Nakhle on Instagram, which captures the lighting and saturation ofThe Last of Us 2perfectly, helping to create the illusion of an in-game screenshot. It’s always entertaining to see cosplays that go above and beyond expectations, and it’s impressive to see Miller use her expressiveness to capture Ellie’s character rather than using tricks or software to create an exact likeness. WhetherThe Last of Usfans create high concept artworkor incredible cosplays, they always manage to amaze, managing to turn the gritty post-apocalyptic world from the games into something entirely new.
