The Parts of Saints Row Likely Kept for Codename Volt
Saints Rowis an open-world action franchise that began with a more serious tone before gradually becoming more comedic and over the top.Saints Row 4even blew up Earthand allowed players to inflate enemies until they exploded with an inflation ray weapon. The aspects that have been consistent across the series, and are most likely to appear inCodename Volt, are the mini games and the huge amount of customizability.
Saints Rowhas always had a lot of side activities and mini games for players to tackle, from vandalizing properties with raw sewage to committing insurance fraud. IfCodename Voltis being compared toSaints Row, it is likely that it will have plenty of imaginative side activities for players to enjoy, butSaints Rowis also very well known for its customizability. It is likely thatCodename Voltwill also let players customize their character and other aspects of the game, even if it does take a more serious tone than the laterSaints Rowtitles.

What the Cthulhu Universe Could Bring to Codename Volt
The Cthulhu mythos has a lot of depth and variety to it, and it is no stranger to the games industry. Not only has the Ancient One inspired their own games, but Cthulhu even became aplayable character in the MOBASMITElast year. By looking at both the Cthulhu mythos itself as well as how it has been integrated into games in the past, there are some aspects that are sure to make it intoCodename Volt.
The largest part of Chulhu’s appearances in games that would almost undoubtedly show up inCodename Voltis players having to manage their character’s sanity. Dealing with the horrors of the ancient ones is not for the faint of heart, andCodename Voltwill likely feature that sees players being able to do certain things depending on their sanity level. Maybe a character going insane will even change how they see the open world in a way that works similarly tothis year’sThe Mediumthat rendered two versions of the world at once.Codename Voltwill also likely see players taking the role of investigators as that is a staple of the Cthulhu mythos and games based on it.
Codename Voltis reportedly early on in its development, so fans will likely have to wait quite a while longer to get any official announcements or news about the game. The premise does seem like an interesting one, however, and one that could stand out in the open-world genre. 2K Games does reportedly have a lot of other great games to show off this year, however, like theleaked Tiny TinaBorderlandsspin-off.
