Updated July 20, 2025, by Joe Grantham:Hogwarts Legacy has been out for some time now, and the illustrious School of Witchcraft and Wizardry’s gates have opened to players on another platform after finally releasing on the Nintendo Switch. One of the many great aspects of the game is the sheer amount of customization available in the Room of Requirement. With140 conjurations on offer, players can get creative and make truly unique spaces for their characters to relax in. However, if players are stuck and undecided about the direction they want to go in, there are plenty of creative ways to get some interesting themes going.
Cool, Moonlit
Various Portraits and Landscapes, Arm Chairs, Bookcases, Statues
In the books, films, andHogwarts Legacyitself, the interior of Hogwarts is packed full of beautiful magical paintings that move. If players want to recreate some of this magic, they could make a Room of Requirement that would be the envy of any art connoisseur.

Almost every inch of the walls can be plastered with art, and players can even alter the sizes of the frames for more variety. Naturally, the rest of the room should only contain the finest furniture and decor, suitable for sophisticated living.
Scientific or Gothic

Dark and Mysterious
Wooden Maiden, Sinister Oddities Shelf, Mounted House-Elf Heads, Decorated Gothic Table

For players who have opted for a darker playthrough inHogwarts Legacy, creating a Dark Arts Room of Requirement can be a great way to enhance the roleplay and celebrate a branch of magic that is usually frowned upon. Thankfully, the game has many great Dark Arts props available.
To start with, players will want to talk with Deek and ask for a dark and mysterious ambiance for the room. The scientific walls colored black or gothic walls also fit perfectly with this aesthetic. In terms of conjurations, players can add a sinister oddities shelf, a wooden maiden, and much more.

Botanical
Natural and Earthy
Potting Tables, Herbology Tools, Flower Boxes, the Gold Herbology Trophy, Animal Statues and Paintings, Decorated Botanical Table

For lovers of Herbology and magical creatures, a natural open-air Room of Requirement makes perfect sense. As one of the four preset aesthetics for the walls and certain objects is botanical, this is a design that is easy to make.
The flower boxes and herbology tools are, of course, natural fits, but so too are the various paintings that either depict natural landscapes or animals. There are also statues ofcute magical creaturesthat can be found inHogwarts Legacy.

Bookcases, Desks, Armillery Spheres, Globes, Telescopes
At the end of the day,Professor Weasleyonly introduced the main character to the Room of Requirement so that they would have a place to catch up on four missed years at Hogwarts. For players who want to take their end-of-year O.W.L.s seriously, they could create the perfect space in which to study.
Bookcases and desks are naturally the most important items of furniture when it comes to a study room, but sources of light and comfy seats are also necessary for prolonged nights of revision. Telescopes, chess tables, and globes also help provide a more intellectual feel.

Gothic
Any
Suits of Armor, Crests, Gothic Free Standing Lights, Rugs, Gothic Dressing Screens
Hogwarts was founded in the Middle Ages, and as such, there are numerous medieval items that can be found throughoutHogwarts Legacy, including one ofthe best outfitsin the game, the suit of armor. Fans of this period of history will be glad to know that they can turn their Room of Requirement into a medieval-inspired space.

Gothic walls, windows, and objects are all great for this design, although a botanical floor might be preferred, especially when covered in fancy rugs. There are also shield crests that players can place on the walls, but best of all are the two variations of armor suits players can position wherever they like.
Quidditch Board, Small Quidditch Table, Quidditch Golaposts Stand, Crests, House Banners
The Quidditch season may have been canceled by Professor Black, but that doesn’t mean Quidditch fanatics have to hide their love of the best magical sport out there.Hogwarts Legacyis full to the brim of Quidditch items, includingthe best brooms in the game, and many of these items can be shown off in the Room of Requirement.
Players can place a table where a miniature game of Quidditch is played out, as well as some Quidditch hoops. On the walls, they can place a Quidditch board, likely full of information about tactics and the best players. Best of all, though, is a Quidditch equipment shelf that features a broom and all the balls required for the sport.
Mounted House-Elf Heads, Portrait of a Witch, Mirrors
Although players cannot visit the Black family home of 12 Grimmauld Place inHogwarts Legacy, they can recreate it in their Room of Requirement. To do this, they will first want to decorate their walls as gothic and black, which perfectly creates a dark green and black wallpaper. Paired with a nighttime ambiance that Deek can change, players will already be on their way to creating a space that Sirius would hate.
House-elf heads can be mounted on the walls, especially the walls of stairs, just like they are described intheHarry Potterbooks. Portraits and mirrors are natural fits for an ancestral family home, but best of all is a large portrait of an old witch similar to Sirius' mother.
Warm and Cosy
Feline Plates, Rules Placards, Footstools, Decorated Scientific Table
Professor Umbridge is far fromthe most popular professorto ever grace the halls of Hogwarts. Nevertheless, some players might wish to recreate her iconic pink office in their Room of Requirement.
Other than changing the color of everything they can to pink, players can also decorate the walls with the kitten plates, which would be cute if not for their association with Professor Umbridge. Placards that resemble the education decrees she issued can be placed on the walls, and Pink footstools and comfy chairs are also great additions for recreating an office that most Hogwarts students would be appalled to walk into.
