With the whole Inazuma arc coming to an end, it’s time for a new major region to arrive to the world ofGenshin Impact. The game has introduced a pattern of adding a new major region annually.
The official live stream event for update 2.8 has confirmed the arrival of a brand new main nation named Sumeru.Genshin Impact’s latest video gives additional information about the mysterious region.

Genshin Impacthas revealed the second teaser video for the Sumeru region, which is expected to arrive withGenshin ImpactVersion 3.0. The new video confirms that Sumeru is very different from the currently available major regions as it can be divided into two main parts: rainforests and deserts. The first Sumeru teaser didn’t show any parts of the desert which led many players to believe that it most likely won’t be a part of the first major update. The landscape of Sumeru’s rainforests gives the impression of endless mountains which are in line with Sumeru’s tropical climate.
In contrast to Liyue and Inazuma, Sumeru’s rocks have much gentler contours which can be seen throughout the whole area. The rainforest will have a unique type of vegetation which includes giant trees and flowers. This new video also shows a couple of locations located in Sumeru’s deserts. According to previous leaks, Sumeru will become thelargest major region inGenshin Impact, and it’s even bigger than Mondstadt and Liyue combined. However, many fans speculate that to make the region seem more realistic, the desert part of the world could be empty for the most part.
A number of comments claim that the addition of the new Sumeru region will certainly takeGenshin Impact’s exploration experience to the next level. Another reason why there is a lot of hype around this nation is the fact that it will introduce thelong-awaited Dendro element. Out of the seven elements ofGenshin Impact, Dendro is the only one that isn’t featured in a character’s kit at the moment.
Even though previous leaks claimed that the new element is able to trigger only two elemental reactions,HoYoverse’s recent Dendro videoconfirmed that it will be much more powerful. Sumeru will probably be the best supportive element inGenshin Impactsince it can interact with almost every other element in the game which makes it a very flexible asset for many team compositions.
