The age of streaming has led to the rise of many gamers who broadcast their play sessions to fans all over the globe. It’s truly astounding to see how viable it really is to start a career as a streamer, with many people loving the idea of watching their favorite streamerscheck out a wealth of gamesthat are pretty incredible in their own right.

However, this has also led to the rise of games that are more enjoyable to look at than actually play, which leads to pretty mixed reactions from most fans. While it’s not the worst idea in the world to develop a game that becomes really popular on streaming platforms, the fact is that most people like playing games, not watching them from the backseat. Of course, some games fulfill these criteria unintentionally too, which is mainly due to a lack of quality that makes them absolutely horrible to play firsthand.

The bread swinging around a bowling pin in I Am Bread

6I Am Bread

There are some games that are certified meme material from the very moment they’re launched, andI Am Breadcertainly falls within this category. The gameplay loop of this title is pretty much on par with what most people would expect, with players controlling a piece of bread that’s hard at work trying to become toast by traversing a level to jump into a toaster.

As fun as this game’s novel concept may be early on, the levels inI Am Breadare nowhere near imaginative enough to warrant players trying to complete this title. Instead, they’re better off just watching some playthroughs of people struggling with the intentionally obtuse controls, which is way funnier!

5The Amnesia Games

Amnesiais one of the first games that kickstarted the wave of Let’s Players reacting in the most obnoxious ways possible to the many scares that awaited them in these titles. The games themselves are pretty engaging in their own right and do a great job of maintaining a tense atmosphere as players complete certain puzzles without losing their sanity.

However, there’s no denying thattheAmnesiagames can be a bit too scary for playerswho can’t stomach the horrific nightmares that they have to deal with in these games. It’s easier for them to be a spectator for these games since they don’t have to be immersed in the game to an extent where a single scare can completely throw them off their game.

Gollum’s Nature

4The Lord Of The Rings: Gollum

There are times when a game is released that is so horrible that playing it feels like a nightmare, and that’s exactly what happened toThe Lord of the Rings: Gollum. The game completelygoes against everything that made the IP so famous, to begin with, butchering Gollum’s character in the process.

The stealth gameplay of this title is so broken that it’s downright impossible to enjoy the experience, even if players are laughing at the poorly constructed game every step of the way. The only way people can really stomach this title is to watch other people play, laughing at the bugs and half-baked mechanics of this title as their favorite streamers struggle to perform the most basic of tasks.

Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy Diogenes

3Getting Over It With Bennett Foddy

Some games revel in their frustration, forcing players to either understand how the gameplay works or give up after failing over and over again.Getting Over It with Bennet Foddyis pretty much the perfect game for players who enjoy watching other gamers get frustrated with its incredibly challenging gameplay instead of exposing themselves to this title and all the anger that’ll come with it.

The game became successful forthe effortless manner in which it irritates the player, with the narrator’s dry wit and sarcasm either adding to the hilarity of the viewer or making players even angrier at their shortcomings. Hopefully,Baby Stepswill prove to be a less frustrating experience than this title while still retaining the magic that madeGetting Over Itso weirdly fascinating.

Nathan Drake

2The First Three Uncharted Games

There’s no denying that theUnchartedgames feature some of the best cinematic storytelling and tense action set-pieces ever seen in a video game. However, while the fourth game has aged very well, the same can’t be said for the first three games.

The gameplay in these titles is as barebones as they come, and it’s clear for everyone to see that these titles are more a product of their time than anything else. However, most people have fond memories of the PS3Unchartedgames, so it’s hard to say anything bad about thegames that propelled Naughty Dogto new heights of popularity.

1All Quantic Dream Games

David Cage has become someone that fans love to ridicule in the video game industry, with his holier-than-thou attitude and weird creepy tendencies being rightfully criticized. However, despite all his shortcomings, there’s no denying that hiswork with Quantic Dreamhas produced some really exciting games indeed.

However, players who hate QTEs will find the games to be painful to get through, at times. Given how these games are technically interactive movies, players are better off just watching a streamer play this title instead… even if they won’t have direct control over the outcomes that lead to one of the game’s many possible endings.
