New features and challenges are present inFortniteSeason 6: Primal. Players must now master survival skills like hunting and crafting if they want to claim victory. The only thing in the way is a little bit of gathering.
In this new season ofFortnite, Animal Bones and Mechanical Parts are the sought-after materials for creating the best weapons. After picking up a basic Makeshift weapon from just about anywhere on the map, it can be upgraded to its Primal or Mechanical form. Players who want to try out a Primal weapon might have to track down some of the wildlife that now wanders theFortnitemap, but those who prefer a Mechanical weapon need to look no further than the run-down ruins of vehicles and other machinery.

Whether it’s for a weekly challenge, or just to get an effective weapon ASAP, many players will want to seek out locations where large amounts of Mechanical Parts can be found. A discerning scavenger can find machines to harvest from in just aboutany area of the new-and-improved mapif they look hard enough, but there are definitely certain spots that have a higher concentration of abandoned cars ripe for the picking. Once one of these vehicles has been found, all that needs to be done is to destroy it with melee attacks or other means and the Mechanical Parts will rain down.
When dropping onto the map at the beginning of the match, one surefire way to find a spot that’s likely to yield many Mechanical Parts is to look for places that are dense with parking lots or streets. One such place isRetail Row. The once-bustling commercial area is a great place to farm for Mechanical Parts, but it’s a popular spot that attracts a lot of players. Dropping here requires weighing the risks and rewards carefully.
Another risky yet lucrative location isLazy Lake. The cityscape area has a gas station and other points-of-interest where cars are likely to be found. Since this is also a hotspot where enemy players are likely to be encountered, those who want to gather materials in peace might want to look elsewhere. Neara new structure called The Spire, there’s a patch of greenery amongst the autumn colors where four cars can be found. Far away from any major landing zones, those who are in the know can safely gather Mechanical Parts here and be on their way.
With some Mechanical Parts in the inventory, players just need a Makeshift weapon and they’ll be able tomake full use of the revamped crafting system. Upgrading weapons has never been more accessible or rewarding. Creating improved gear is the key to survival in Season 6: Primal.
